IMO he is fine as long as he isnt on the top 2 lines.. put him on the 3rd.

Gionta is still a quality forward - we saw that at the end of last season. I am fine if that shelters the kids on the 3rd line. It is just for the start.

In my opinion that is far too much professional inexperience on one line.
I'd bet that line is short lived. (Only together because Gionta is not at practice)?
That line would be in for some very very long shifts in their own end.

If that old man is useless, then the whole team should have been dumped other than Ennis and Moulson because Gionta was 3rd in points last season on a team that couldn't score worth a damn...

Maybe he's got the flu? Confirming him as captain and then trading him days later probably isn't a good idea.

In response to Goose about Lehner being vocal, plus I have heard that O'Reilly is very vocal with the defensemen out there. This will be a vast change from the last two years at least. It will be nice for the players trying to be on the same page rather than being in completely different books.
