"That space was provided to the Sharks by the Kings forward and defensive groups"

Im pretty sure your wrong here, the Sharks created space by quick transitions, good breakout passes and solid defensive showing. Deboer's new system was evident and our forechecking and transition game are unlike you have seen on a Sharks team before, we didnt even lift our foot off the gas pedal with the game put away. New day, new team.

It just seemed as if he wasnt giving credit to our game last night and was only because the Kings supplied it. What do I know?

It is both, but absolutely credit should be given to players like Pavelski and Couture for exploiting it.

Credit where it is due to them of course. Pretty sure I made points of saying good players exploit space given and/or create. If not I apologize.

I should have quoted more of his text, he was basically saying we are slow and the Kings gave them the space, I disagree. We were tenacious on the check and created the room not given. Im getting long winded on this. Anyways nothing matters till next year. Hope we can meet in the first 3 rounds...

Its cool, Im just used to being a defensive Sharks fan for good reason. Just happy to see us put our foot down and not lay up.

Seriously thought whats up with Brown? That guy pisses me off with his reckless play. Do you guys think he leaped and did a head target? Not even a double minor for drawing blood.

Forgive me, I'm normally not one to get into this in the comment section, but where was I not complimentary of the Sharks? Sorry if I didn't gush over them, but I felt I gave them absolutely enough credit. They played a great game, created space, but also exploited the space of a flat-footed Kings team. Scoreline was correct. 5-1 was earned. They played good, the Kings played poor. Not sure what else you want me to say. This is a Kings-centric blog after all.

I don't know what to think of the guy, usually turn a blind eye to it when he is playing his game (hitting and scoring), but he hasn't been playing is game sine the first cup run.

I really don't like Couture so I kind of dig it when he gets pasted be it clean or dirty. I haven't really examined that play too much in all honesty and would like to forget that entire game until we are 2 points out of a play off spot.

Jason, I am kind of surprised you didn't make mention of the lock down/kings choke job of getting through the neutral zone in the 2nd and 3rd. I thought that was kind of a big issue last night.

I normally don't respond. It's all good. Just frustrating at times to try to come across as impartial and informative on both sides of the puck and have that be the first thing you see in a comment section.

Oh well. On to the next one.

Very good observation. Kings were definitely sloppy getting through the zone. Likely something we could highlight in another blog. Pretty big deal, good denial of entries by the Sharks from about three quarters of the way through the first onward.

He isn't even an average skater. Little control. So when he goes for a hit, you get stuff like that. He's aggressive and reckless and that's his out when people conclude that he's dirty. I'm tired of his act, which is made less tolerable by his inability to get to the net and his enormous cap hit. Get used to him, though: your grandchildren will be in college and he'll still be on the payroll.

Ive got a bit more sympathy for Muzzin on that play than I do Lucic. Its tough when you get screened and the puck goes from the point to the other side so quickly since he has to locate the puck on the shot which goes behind him and then back out on the other side very quickly. But, he needed to pick up *someone*, at least Thornton, who seems to originally have been Kopi's man. Lucic on the other hand comes all the way across the ice leaving the point entirely uncovered and puts 3 forwards on the right side of the ice. If he stays with his man they are actually in OK shape.

Not sure why he was selected captain? You guys need to strip him of it and give it to Doughty, your best player...

Best player doesn't always equal best leader.
