Poor Rask must shudder every time Irwin steps on the ice. He's horrible. Jimmy Hayes has been pretty invisible through his first 2 games. I hope we didn't make a lateral move and swap the same type of player with that deal. |

As I said before, team lacks both mental & physical spirit, no passion!
Also, the players don't fit the system, when the coaching change happens the Bruins need to install a younger coach who understands the dynamics of today's NHL!
Please no retreads beside the bench, young and knowledgeable!
Its watching race horses trying to be plow horses!

How long you figure Julien keeps his job if they continue to struggle? |

Your probably right but I don't think it will make much difference. |

You mean an AHL calibre defence won't be able to get the job done? Dang. |

Yeah I know. We're mostly original sixers around these parts. The only time I ever thought of switching teams was back in the glory days of Bobby Orr. I was just a kid. Too bad about losing Hamilton, I'll never understand that one. |

Cape Bruiner- I agree Hayes and Connolly look absolutely dreadful. LY Spooner and Pastrnak had some chemistry but now Spoons is relegated to third line with 2 guys with lead in their skates.
I said last year Connolly was a waste of 2 2nd round picks- he just is invisible against NHL competition.
Too many guys simply 'swapped' jerseys between this year and last year...NOT ONE move was an UPGRADE. No front line sniper added and we regressed on the blueline by losing Hamilton for nothing. Sure Beleskey got a goal last night, but he's Curtis Glencross at 2 1/2 times the salary. Those funds should've been used to secure a defenceman who can skate the puck up the ice or at least make an outlet pass.
Gonna be a long season. |

I sure hope not- clearly these guys have no interest in playing for him. He may be a good coach, but his style is clearly outdated and the system is full of holes and fooling no one. |

Swapping Chara in for Irwin will probably be the single biggest upgrade any team will make this season. Let's wait for the big man to get back.
Also, this team looks like its got no confidence. They come out strong, then as soon as something bad happens they start to suck.
On the plus side, this was an improvement over the first game. Colin Miller looked really good, if they stick him in a platoon role Ill probably jump on the fire Claude bandwagon. Kid needs to play. |

Yeah, Connolly hasn't dissapointed me as much as Hayes. Read somewhere this morning that Julien was basically calling that line 'soft'. Pretty accurate. I still think this is a 'bubble' playoff team (if healthy). And if not, every team has to go through this. We were blessed with a very good team for 5-6 years.
Pastrnak gets 30 seconds off PP time, sets up the goal. How bout that? |

I don't think they were winning the game regardless, but did you think this was a good call? The contact, as I wrote, was minimal at best and only happened because Emelin is pushing Bergeron into Price. Bergeron does everything he can to avoid contact and the contact that *is* made doesn't take Price anywhere close to out of the play. That's just an opinion, it's not bias or whining just because you don't agree with it. - tyanderson
In the game against toronto Gallagher was, albeit pushing hard, but was guided or pushed into bernier and he got a gtending interference call. It was kinda weak and bernier was out of the crease a bit, but called nonthe less. I wonder if the NHL is really trying to crack down on all contact. Taking the logic or common sense part out of officiating when it comes to gt interference.
Theres just so little transparency its fruatrating. Its regseason now but come playoffs this could be a real issue.... It was a weak call, but because we have no benchmarks we the paying fans cant compare it with anything and are left bicker over stupid poop.

Gotta give you credit, Ty, that was a pretty even even handed blog. I agree with you re: the call... Happy it went my teams way, but would understand if the challenge worked, too. It's one of those, "Eeehhhhh... Maybe?" calls. Great when they go for your team, and could give reasons to justify it, but when it goes against you, it sucks hard, because you can give just as many reasons why it shouldn't have been called off. My guess is simply this: There wasn't enough damning proof to reverse the call on the ice, nothing clear cut, which is why the original call stood. |

I wish this team would figure out how to play against MTL. It's a complete embarrassment to lose every game to your rivals. Whatever game plan they use just doesn't work.
Things can't get much worse with Marchand going down. Irwin was a flop, not sure why the scouts couldn't figure that out when SJ didn't want him. The Connolly trade for (2) seconds looks to be a bad trade as well. Hayes has been a bust so far....the Belesky signing looks like a waste of money, where that money could have went to a good dman.
Wow, I better stop, way too negative after 2 games. I hope the newbies can turn it around.
It just sucks getting owned by MTL every game.... |

Other then the fact Emelin pushed Bergeron towards Price? |
