I think it will be interesting to see how he looks tonight playing where he belongs.

The Canes took a pretty inexperienced #6/#7 defenseman and chucked him into a top 4 slot ON HIS OFF SIDE.

I was hard on Jordan's play (fairly I think), but I think you have to give him a clean slate playing in a more appropriate role/slot.

Believe he was a healthy scratch - which wouldn't be surprising with a young player who may have been overwhelmed a bit after the first couple of weeks. Pretty decent effort last night by the Canes, albeit against an ordinary Detroit squad that even with their injuries, appears to be quickly dropping out of the top tier of teams. Not to diminish the play of most of Canes......like I said pretty solid. Ward and the d were steady and composed. Didn't see a whole lot of creativity by the group of forwards but they also did their part to limit offensive chances by Detroit. The Islanders are struggling a bit, not out of the realm of possibility to pick up a point or two in Brooklyn and head home with what could be considered a pretty successful road trip. Not an easy task but not impossible. One last question. Does Jeff Skinner ever take the body? Saw him really shy away on more than a few occasions against Detroit. I get that he's a goal scorer but he doesn't exactly get involved with much else and I can't imagine that goes unnoticed with teammates and coaches. Soft is a pretty harsh term to describe a hockey player but......

Yes, i did later read Hanifin was a healthy extra last. Smart move by BP to give him a breather and have him watch and observe from the press box.

Skinner, I'm afraid is concussion weary and may never be the same player he was early on. My hunch is management would like to trade him, but other teams see exactly what you see and are also weary and don't want to get burned. This is not to mention his high salary of approx 5.7M that is also an albatross around the teams neck.
