Just a classic difficult schedule game, coupled with a penalty killing bonanza, and all against the best team in hockey, and a rested one at that. Severely outplayed but still had a chance to win. What can you do, right?

I hope to god that Jake stays on the top line next game and going forward. I hope it wasn't just a late game switch-a-roo and nothing more.

Second line was just awful possession wise. Couturier seemed to be the main culprit tonight -- he's been kind of invisible the last few games, even when the line did OK. Hakstol noticed bc Laughton took a few of his shifts late.

Manning-Ghost was shaky tonight. Wonder if AMac will draw in for Manning. It will probably end up being for Medvedev just cuz

Didn't expect much, but it shows once again who the number 1 goalie should be

Dallas transitions from defense to offense faster than any team I have seen in a while. Every time they got possession of the puck no matter where they were it seemed like they were on their way to a scoring chance, even if it was in their own zone.. It was impressive.

Fridays are always killer for me. Had a tough time staying up to pay attention, but killing off the 6 or so penalties I saw let alone the 2nd of a back to back was going to be a difficult game to win.

Could Isles deal Hamonic to Jets for Buff ( then sign him)
Don't want Stamkos in Toronto. That's all they are talking about . They ( fans)are confident he is coming.

1 goal in 30 games for Voracek is completely ridiculous.

I look forward to seeing a list compiled of the elite forwards in the NHL that have scored 1 goal this year while playing in all their teams games.

Thanks Bill. Neuvy is making a strong case for his cause for sticking around for another contract. If they decide to bring up Stolarz, it will be interesting to see which goalie they stick with. Simmer's line didn't look good at all. Any news on Luke? How did Mac do the last game out? I didn't hear his name called, or notice anything that made him stand out; not that I would expect him to stand out...lol.
I'd give V-check a break, because he needs better line mates.

And let's face it, a goal during the breakaway-fest known as 3v3 hockey has a great big asterisk next to it.

The John Klingberg effect.

(hope we'll be talking about the Shayne Gostisbehere effect soon!)

Maybe so, but a goal that wins a game, and gains an extra point in the standings is a big goal.

Re Voracek:

When you combine his lack of production this year with his numbers during the last couple months of the 14-15 season, its very troubling. His ES numbers over the last 70 games or so are flat out bad. I'm starting to worry that in another year or 2 we'll all be lamenting the Voracek contract nearly as much as AMac's.

An OT goal counts in a players stats, which it should regardless of 3 vs 3.
That's what makes the shootout so skewed, the goals, & saves don't even count for the players individually.

Yes it did win that one game. How many games could we have used a goal from one of our "elite" players to provide those extras points. Jake has simply not done the job IMO. I hope he comes out of it, but 30 games and 1 goal... Not good at all

Continuing to play with 2 checkers isn't helping, message was sent weeks ago when he moved him to that line.
Enough already.
