I'm waiting until the deadline when Jeremy Morin gets traded back to Chicago
I think the Flyers are really happy with Sam Morin, and further, don't expect to see him involved in any deal. While I doubt he has as high a ceiling as Provorov or Sanheim, he's on track to be a really solid NHLer. He's got a good combination size, skating ability and he's got a mean streak.
They're handling him right, IMO. No rushing, loads of patience and letting him grow |

I agree.
Also I know it sucks having some of the dmen we do but it's also a little bit of a blessing. They didn't need to rush anyone like Morin or Sanheim or Provorov and can let them grow a little more since they aren't in a push to win the cup this year. |

Have we fixed our ES goal scoring problem by trading for the stud LW who has 3 ES goals in his 89 game NHL career yet? |

Great read as always....
...In your opinion, do you see Sanheim's development arc as similar to Morin's or could it be quicker or slower? As you said, they will all develop differently, but with Hagg, Morin, Sanheim and Provorov in the pipeline it does make it interesting. |

Nevermind that Drouin is an ace at gaining the zone, and making plays, and transitioning the puck... all things the Flyers have struggled with in recent seasons.
You could go after a 'sniper', but if there's nobody to get the puck in scoring position besides G and Jake, you're probably still having ES and depth of scoring woes.
(with that said, there's really no chance he lands here, if he even gets traded at all) |

So we are now due to go off and win 5 out of 7 right? Isnt that how we do things? |

Sanheim may need a full AHL season. The style he plays in Calgary needs to be toned down and adjusted a bit so that he's joining the rush but not leading it. He's actually NOT that bad defensively -- quick stick, decent angles -- but he could stand to use his size better and back in a little less in one-on-one battles. |

Both Morin & Sanheim will need a year or two in the AHL. Oddly enough both have the same basic mandate to work on-improving their games away from the puck. Sanheim might never be a great defensive zone guy, but he could be an outstanding defender in terms of keeping the puck out of his own end.

Most likely. It's going to be a uneven path to the # 12 in the 2016 NHL draft. |

I wonder what they'd even want. Stamkos needs to get resolved before you do anything, you'd think, so you have a better feel for what you do and don't have
Stamkos might not get resolved for a bit, either |

With regards to Drouin, I have not seen much of him. However, I did see him a lot at the WJC, and he whined to a level that made a young Sidney Crosby seem like Jean Beliveau. The guy, as Bill noted, seems to think that he is entitled to everything, doesn't like it when things get tough, and can throw a major league temper tantrum. From a purely offensive standpoint, he'd immediately become their most skilled left wing (I believe he can play both sides) but I don't think he, right now, would be what the Flyers want. |

Phillipe Myers is on an 8 game point streak. 29 pts in 37 games and I doubt he's getting top pp time. This kid is so under the radar for us but he'd be brought up in here everyday if we drafted him. Wasn't it a scout that said he's at worst a 2nd rounder in a redraft? And that was earlier in the year he's keeping it up and then some. A 6'5" 210 lb RH two way defenseman. What a crop of blue liners we have going |

People have brought him up.
I think it was Bill who mentioned that someone he talked to said if there was a redraft he would probably be a 2nrd rounder.
Flyers have some other under the radar guys in Reese Wilcox and Mark Friedman. They have a crop of dmen. Should be interesting. |

I think they could probably find a deal that would be cap-neutral or even represent a cap-savings for them if they found the right trading partner.
I was joking last night about the Flyers being willing to eat Carle's deal, but really something like that might be the only way I'd imagine that Tampa would consider trading Drouin in-conference.
(Stamkos seems like a goner anyway, probably) |

I am not Bill, but I will give you my 3 pennies.
Sanheim: I think he has the potential to be a player very similar to Jay Bouwmeester but with some offensive punch as well.. Think Florida J-Bo. 40-45 points while playing solid 2 way game. Not much of a physical player but great size. Its probably gonna take him another 3-4 years to really make a significant impact.. and probably a fulls eason or two in the AHL.
Provorov is special.. but they may want to play the wait game with him as well... 3-4 years from now we are gonna have a really solid home grown d-corps. |

I will take anyone who can get the job done. I don't know much about the prospects and their development anymore because of work and home life, so I honestly count on the feedback you guys provide |

Because if it was me, I would totally call Garth Snow |

Sanheim to me looks like a taller version of Duncan Keith at the same age. |

As always, we need either him or Provorov to hit it big, and it would be nice if Morin developed fully
I am so hesitant to count on them all, because someone is probably gonna bust
But I do believe MDZ, Gudas and Ghost are good enough to have moving forward, so if they can just get Morin and either Provorov or Sanheim to be beasts....you can win with that, plus a solid veteran to shepherd them through

You do get that feeling from him of that he doesn't have to earn a spot in the lineup. He gives off the vibe that because of his talent, he should just be handed a top 6 role. Doesn't work that way. |

Yeah, something like Hamonic, Ho-Sang and the Isles' 2016 1st for Drouin, Carle and a top-60 pick might be feasible. |
