Habs are not as good as their 9-0 start...nor as pathetic as the 3-12 since december 1st (or whatever it is).
Still, unless they add a legitimate Top 6 forward...and maybe two, they are a middling team. With Price maybe a round or two in playoffs, without him may not even get to the dance.
Great group of line 2,3 4 guys....but need a couple of REAL #1 line players to help paches....Staal???...Drouin??...Stamkos???....someone????? |

Habs are gonna lose tonight and PANIC will get to the management. - WaterBoy
What is Lars Eller doing on the powerplay And why i Markov is out of it ?
In fact, why isnt Eller in the stands... at least for a game or 2... Put Sven in..
They need a change... out Emelin and Gilbert.... Pateryn and Barbario can fil those role...
then move Eller+Carr+2nd round pick for a top 6 forward.... |

doesn't matter...You need to trade the guy you would bench, for a top 6 |

Markov is a HUGE liability and I believe still has one
more year left at $5.75 million....wow
PS Emelin is no answer... |

yes, I agree he needs to play less on 5 on 5 (cue Beaulieu) but he should still be on the first PP, that where he still has some value ! |

It's crazy how crucial goaltending has become in today's game. This is a mediocre-at-best team that would struggle to secure a playoff spot with average goaltending. But with Carey between the pipes, suddenly they're a top-tier squad in the East
Similar situation to Jersey, where Cory Schneider has established himself as a top 3-5 goalie in the league, and has dragged a bunch of corpses into a playoff situation
It makes you wonder where a team like Edmonton would be right now if they had a goalie of Cory / Carey caliber....
And to the dude who suggested that Eller + Carr + 2nd would get you a top-6 forward....hahahahahaha! That package would get you a 3rd round pick |

I think one of Desharnais or Eller is thrown in for salary reasons but I think MB will use Sherbak, Tinordi, Fucale and Andrighetto as his bait in a trade, maybe McCarron if the offer is right |

I'm sick of hearing this... does everybody forget how well they played during Price's first injury this season? During the second stint, from what I've seen, the goaltending hasn't been as bad as the numbers suggest. Seemed to me that they missed Gallagher way more on the offensive side of things and the defence has been straight up weak, starting with their 2 best (Subban and Markov). Time to stop blaming the rookie goalie.
It makes you wonder where a team like Edmonton would be right now if they had a goalie of Cory / Carey caliber....
What, like a Vezina nominee/All-Star goalie such as Devan Dubnyk? How about a guy like Cam Talbot who tore it up last year? Yea, they just need a great goalie...

I don't think that's a ridiculous package...
Eller = a defensively responsible (albeit offensively challenged) who can play both center and wing
Carr = a rookie who, if we were 14 games into the season, would be on pace for a 30 goal campaign
+ a late 2nd
for a top 6 isn't bad at all... what's laughable is your ridiculous exaggeration that it's only worth a 3rd. |

It's not a horrible package, the problem is when you say top 6 forward people assume you're trying to land Jamie Benn, which is non sense there's a wide gap between a franchise player and a journeyman top 6 guy yet they're both still top 6... Joffrey Lupul would be on the Habs top 6 and you're package would be greatly overpaying |

Evidently Tomas Fleischmann is the reason the Habs are not winning.
Sitting him tonight should solve all the Habs problems. |
