I think Lehner could benefit from more than 2-3 games in Rochester....not sure what the max is for the conditioning stint?

With 8 defensemen do we send someone down soon or wait to cross that bridge when Deslauries or Ennis returns?

Borgen is a 6'4" 215 lb. RHD

Everywhere I look he is 6'2" 195... Are you trying to squeeze in a few inches and 20lbs private Snowball?

14 days? I'm not sure...

13.8 Conditioning Loan. Unless a Player consents, he shall not be Loaned on a Conditioning Loan to a minor league club. Such Conditioning Loan shall not extend for more than fourteen (14) consecutive days. The Commissioner may take whatever steps he deems necessary to investigate the circumstances under which a Player is Loaned on a Conditioning Loan. If the Commissioner has reason to believe or determines that the Club has used the Conditioning Loan to evade the Re-Entry Waivers, or otherwise Circumvent any provision of this Agreement, he may take such disciplinary action against the Club, as he deems appropriate. The Player shall continue, during the period of such Conditioning Loan, to receive the same Paragraph 1 NHL Salary, and be entitled to the same benefits, that he would have received had he continued to play with the Club.

Yeah, remember when we tried to sneak Grigorenko to the minors on a "conditioning" assignment? But the NHL called shenanigans and we had to either keep him in the NHL or send him back to the "Q" which we ended up doing.

We don't have any high-end d-prospects in the system. But, Guhle and Borgen are looking like they were pretty good picks. And, if anybody has any thoughts on the matter, how's Martin been developing?

He is not a bluefish. He's a pink snapper.

If the goaltending holds up 3-2 sabres in OT

Kane, Risto, ROR (OTW)

we might need someone to pair with Risto in the future, but if you're looking at #3-7D, I think we're fine.
They can't all be first rounders because they'll all want to be paid like first rounders.

3-2 Sabres in the Shootout

Eichel
Moulson

Vanek
Coyle

Who knows with the way Bylsma picks his shooters, it'll probably be McGinn with the winner in the SO.

Good point on the 1st rounder comment. Ive noticed there are a lot on here that think because the prospect isn't a 1st rounder or lighting up the hockey blogosphere , he ain't worth a crap.
I am content with waiting till they are 23-24 ( for a D-man) to see if he turns out.

Is Ruhwedel still on anyone's radar? I was psyched when we picked him up but he does not get talked about much.

He didn't seem to transition very well to the NHL, but he's still youngish, and guys take different amounts of time to make it.

Just listening to WGR and Boatman's interview with Calgary radio. Wow, is he a Richard. You can definitely tell he's a lawyer/politician, never directly answered a question, then got testy when called out on it.

Last things I've read about him was that he regressed and looks like a career AHLer.

The 14 days might still be correct, but this cannot be the current rule because Re-entry Waivers no longer exist.

Very low ceiling. Always has been. He can develop into a reliable bottom pair or quality minor league vet but that's about it.
