Eichel has been a beast this year and sometimes is hidden in the game, but puts the game on his back when its late in the game and we are down, is able to single handily put the team back in the game.
As far as rookie of the year, I hope they dont just take the guy with the highest stats, but the guy who should be the rookie of the year. Not saying that is Eichel, but having an all world all star on your line helps your stats quite a bit, Eichel does not have that linemate. |

am of the opinion that Eichel believes he can overtake all of them stats-wise and with the way he's been playing lately, I tend to believe that as well |

I think Eichel has proved worthy of the #2 pick so far.
P.s. That no-goal at the end... I almost poop myself |

Not a knock on him at all, becuase you have to have skill to be putting up the numbers that he is. But, what would his stats look like if he was on the Sabres? Or even on a different line other than Kane's who is lighting the NHL on fire this year? Tough call. If you go by "helping" the team the most, i mean Domi and Duclair have the yotes in the playoff picture right now. Curious to see what they base it off of. Can't remember a year where this many rookies have a legitimate shot at the Calder. |

I would put Larkin and Domi ahead of Panarin. IMO |

I think he could if he had solid linemates every game all year. Having Patrick Kane on your line really helps Panarin and Zetterberg with Larkin really helps him (although both other rookies are great too!). |

Hmm. If I played on the same line as Kane and Anisimov, I would probably be rookie of the year too.
Eichel doesn't have that luxary, so that should be taken into consideration by the powers that be. |

Then I'll say it.
There is no doubt that without Kane on his line, Panarin would have half the points he has. That's just how good of a season and how much influence Kane is having this year.
If Eichel and the rest of the rookies keep their current pace, I don't know how you can't include the Kane factor into the Calder debate for Panarin.
If you want proof, all you have to do is look at the production from Kane's other linemate, Anisimov is having his best season since he stated in the NHL 7 seasons ago. |

I don't disagree.
On another team he may not look as great. On the flip side... one could argue that many rookies don't get the playing time/opportunity that Domi/Duclair/Eichel get due to their teams not having the most elite of lineups.
I think it is Panarin's award to lose at this point.
As mentioned above I would put it:
1-Panarin
2,3- Larkin, Domi (interchangeable)
4- Eichel

This is my point too, where just taking the guy with most points and calling him rookie of the year is not telling the whole story.
Heck even the position is different / harder to play (D of course is the hardest to learn in the NHL, the transition), but Eichel plays Center, all others are wingers. Just saying. |

Exactly, Panarin is playing on a line with a guy on pace for 112pts!!! In the "New NHL" thats absurd. Again no knock on him, he is playing great, but playing with a guy who will have over 100 points in this league the way it is, is like a cheat code in a video game. LOL |

I understand your points, but I still think Eichel is a little higher on that list. Heck even Panarin is 24 years old, that should factor in a little bit too. |

And Larkin is legit, but plays with Zetterberg? Tell me Eichel does not have twice as many points if he plays with Zetterberg every game. Larkin does some great things too, not trying to knock him (too hard, haha).
