You probably should have anticipated this with your headline, Jason. |

Oh yea. I thought it might make it till at least tomorrow morning without a joke like this, but I was mistaken. |

I like that you're finally coming around to being more honest and genuine, and not arguing about attendance figures. |

Whatever injury he suffered a few months back really set him back. IMO something is still nagging although he has at least gotten his speed back and even a little chippiness that is usually reserved for the POs.
Re last night, I knew we'd be in for a long one when I saw our C's for the evening... Seemed like DS felt it was a throw away game. |

I agree. It set him back for various reasons. Not only did it impact his health, it tweaked the chemistry on the roster while he was away and when it came back.
Notice the slopes on that graph. They decline in early January...when he returned from his wrist surgery and was not playing with TT.
Then they reunite in early February.
Then late February after a massive slump from both, DS separates them again (For good reason.). |

Eye test wise, I notice that his shot is not as crisp and accurate as it used to be. Some times when the puck is on his stick it seems he is mailing it in. as you pointed out on the defensive side, he has lost a little game there too. He still creates on the cycle but has recently been putting the puck into bad areas.
So trade him? not the answer... Rest him? we did clinch, if he has a nagging injury I would say yes rest him. I wouldn't mind that especially if we could call up Kempe much like they did with pearson and toffoli and let Kempe and down finish off the season.
only other thing to do is let him play and keep that cycle of line changes until Sutter finds something that works...
Play offs are coming though, not a good time to have chemistry issues or a slump |

Having watched Kempe almost all year long, I don't think he deserves a call up.
Not to say he has been bad, just too inconsistent. I'm not sure there is another winger worthy of a call up though. Brodzinski is in the same boat as Kempe.
Shoot, just sign Jordan Samuels-Thomas and give him a call. Guy is a very effective checking line player. |

Agree on that, I was just throwing a name out there, but hey, the kings have done it before, why not now with 9 or so games remaining |

I imagine if we were going to call up another winger, Mersch would be first on the list. |

That would probably be it. Although I think Mersch would be better served staying down for the remainder of the year. Has looked a little off since the last send down. |

Probably true. However, it doesn't look like we have an abundance of players on standby though. One more forward injury or absence for "personal reasons" and we would have to call up someone. I certainly don't think we should call him up just because.... |

I would tend to think since the spot is clinched it would be a good time to give someone eles a shot at the show just to get a gauge on it |

IMO your Kings want to keep the foot on the gas peddle.
2 reasons: home ice advantage n want to be on a roll. |

Tell this To a certain fan who thinks the California teams are pretty much giving up to avoid Chicago as a first round match up if they fall to the wild card spot . Probably one of the dumbest comments I've seen in a while. |
