Looks like we're doing a deal today - it's a Redbreast kinda deal.

Just in time for the Final Four!

In case anyone's wondering, with (4) games remaining the Sabres chances of moving up the ladder towards the top pick are dwindling. There are still opportunities to do so but it requires one or more of the bottom feeders going on a tear in the last week of the season. Here's the breakdown per team:

1. Oilers: Buffalo cannot pass EDM at this point
2. Toronto: The Sabres must get no more than 1 point in their last 4 and the Leafs must win all 5 of theirs.
3. Columbus: Sabres must lose all 4 and Jackets need to win 4 out of their last 5 games. One point from the Sabres and Columbus must win all 5 remaining.
4. Jets: Sabres can get one point out of their last 4 while the Jets need to win 3 out of their last 4. If Buffalo gets two points, Jets must win all 4 remaining games.
5. Calgary: Same as the Jets above
6. Canucks: If the Sabres get no points in their last 4 games, The Canucks need 5 points in their last 4 to pass Buffalo. Sabres can get two points in their last 4 which would require Vancouver to get 7 points in their last 4 games.

Looks like McGinn is playing on the ducks top line now...or has been. ?

Will they beat LA in the 2nd round though?

No offense but this is all moot as it requires the sabres to gain a maximum of 2 pts, which is unlikely with games against the devils, jackets and islanders(who will likely rest their stars for game 82).

The bigger concern should be staying behind(ahead) of Arizona and co.

Nyi could still be fighting for a playoff slot in game 82
Good point though,
We do have to worry about both directions
Not that I'd cheer for us to lose...

Yea just looked at their schedule, few tough games ahead (also not game 82 for them)

I love playoff hockey, and I hate that we're not in it again. Please GMTM give me some playoff hockey next year!

It wouldn't surprise me if Nyi or Boston end up being the team that misses the playoffs

They're fine with Gibson in net
Bieksa & Despres are both skating & should be back for the playoffs, but they're deep on defense anyways

The injury of most concern for them is probably Perron
He's been a nice fit for them

Yeah, he's got a shot alright

I wonder how we'd react to go lack of defense if we were to trade for him?

I'm really warming up to the idea of acquiring Hoffman. The guy just scores. As long as he could keep that up, leave the defense to other guys on this team. Pure goal scorers are hard to find, and that kid could really thrive with a high end center.
