Gionta fillsthe veteran leadership roll well, but this hS to be his last year...pass on another hear or two after this one coming up.
im hopefull his line is pushed down to 4th due to some significant signi gs in the offseason..talking to you Stamkos and Vezey!

I'm thinking there won't be room for him. Mid Season next year we'll wish he'd retire.

Will Gionta let ROR take over the C instead of just being de facto??

If he was the captain he would give up the C to ROR like a true captain should

If not the Sabres should just do it we're trying to make the playoffs and he is not the voice we need

I agree with this. I'm fine with Gionta on the 4th line with foligno and Larsson, but it's definitely ROR's time. Let's give him the C, as he has established himself as the leader here.

probably should...then again, I don't think it's absolutely necessary and I don't think it would affect ror one iota

There's a behind blue and gold about Gionta where he just about comes out and says its ROR's job.

And as we've statedd many times before name a guy other than Kunitz who has been a college undrafted FA who has done anything worthwhile in the league? When Kunitz is at the top of a list maybe it's best not to pin your hopes on them

And second there have been so many good undrafted college FA to name some Dustin Penner, Andy McDonald , glencross ,Tyler bozak, Dan Boyle ,Dwayne roloson ,brain rafalski ,Ed Belfour ,Martin St. Louis , Torrey krug , there is many more I'm sure

Foligno too...would make a nice fourth line next year should disco keep them together and the sabres were to add some top-six talent...like say...steven "six-letters" stamkos and maybe a Vesey or caggiula or even evan Rodrigues to the mix

It's implied heavily that ROR could be the next captain in one of the Beyon Blue and Gold's, but I don't think that means Gio is just going to give away the captaincy to him. I take it as more of a long term plan. I could see after Gio's contract runs out if he wants to play another year or two, maybe he'll step down at that point and take a smaller role to play a few more years.
