Yup. But it's 9:30 a.m. here in Russia and I'm off to work soon—Canada plays at noon, so it's now or never!

Tanev and Hansen packed up would get good return right now…
The new package? |

They should be open to almost anything, and in a good position to sit back and listen to offers. Hopefully JB has a solid plan heading into the draft. |

I would ask NYR what they are willing to give up for 2017 first , Hansen , Edler ( if willing ) or Hutton and Gartieg.
They need a young goalie prospect. HL looked horrible in the playoffs.
It would need to start with Stephan or Brassard and they need to add a Dman |

The next two years are critical for the rebuild, they need to hang onto those picks, unless it's an unlikely ridiculous offer. |

That is the correct answer just about all of the time, but here is why it may be different this year.
If Benning is going to sit on his hands and just let a rebuild happen absolutely hold onto the pick.
First of all how strong is next years draft?
Do you expect with all this cap space and expiring contracts that Benning can not build a playoff team this summer that can compete? So it probably will not be a lottery pick.
We wanted to draft a top centre and a guy like Brassard or Stephan could be Canucks best centre for the next 8 years. |

Thanks Carol, as usual your work is tremendous, hockeybuzz is lucky to have you.
If you or anyone else hasn't watched Red Army yet it does a great job of showing the Soviet perspective of coming to the NHL including Krutov and larionov.
Also while I agree disappointing season for Kenins he was injured most the year and played much better his last 20 or so games in Utica, I really hope he is back in the fold, if for nothing else he might help secure Abols. |

6'5" gritty forward who can score some goals, he was at our camp last year but wasn't signed to a contract. |

I knew he was a big centre. His numbers aren't bad on Portland . I don't know him at all.
I wonder why he is not drafted at 20 yrs old though. |

I would prefer the route CHI & FLA took but at the end of the day it's about results. I would love to see Dale Tallon return as an uber boss someday. |

I agree, continue to draft and develop young players before they hit that cliff in two years. That'll be five years of solid building for the team. |

I know exactly what you mean.
But in a couple of years we will have Boeser, this years pick , Demko , JV and McCann settled into the lineup hopefully. It was a move I was looking at to fill a gaping hole that will need to be filled in the next two years.
Its a one time move ,just like Calgary did to get Hamilton |
