Thanks for the continued updates Rick - we all know how tight lipped the Avs are with giving out any information and how terrible the Denver Post is with hockey coverage.
Wow, the firing of Pracey couldn't have happened fast enough looking at the wasted first round draft picks. How much could have solid players helped the Avs out now. Terrible. |

Lol wat?
We'll be fine. If MacK doesn't miss the games at the end, we sneak in more than likely. Iggy is old. Sign another D guy, let everyone heal up, and we'll be fine.

I posted this in the last article yesterday and was basically saying that getting ride if Pracey was the best thing for this Avs team :
First time posting on here! I think we got a steal out of JC Beaudin and AJ Greer, both play for the Rouyn huskies which is 1 hour away from where I live. Got to see about 7 or 8 huskies game this year! Beaudin's playmaking is really good, has a decent shot but tends pass over shooting. Beaudin is out of the lineup with a shoulder injury which hopefully isn't too serious. As for Greer he's got a really good powerful shot and is good at picking corners not fully covered by the goalies he also plays the power forward style of game that reminds me of Chris Stewart although you can never fully compare two players. As for Nantel, he has a lower ceiling, but I can see him in a shutdown role on the 4th or maybe 3rd line with some offence. Nantel has decent speed and is really good at controlling the puck along the boards or in thighs spaces, he has played basically on the 3rd line all year for the stacked huskies team and mostly as a shutdown/PK duties. Nantel basically only got PP time when players were injured. I also got to see Nicolas Meloche once this year when his team visited the huskies. I didn't find that he stood out all that much but didn't play bad either. Considering this I think our drafting has vastly improved since we got ride of Pracey as the head of our scouting staff! On a side note Beaudin Greer and Nantel have a chance to win the presidents cup tonight against the Shawinigan Cataractes as they are up 3-0 in the final series of the QMJHL and could also stamp their ticket for the memorial cup in Red Deer. |

Luckily your D situation looks pretty good now with Johnson, Barrie, Zadorov, Gelinas, Bigras and Beauch |

Another solid draft and a couple smart signings and we will have a solid farm team, it would be nice to have more depth to challenge players for jobs |

According to history, even draft years never work out. Pickard is the only exception. |

the 2015 draft crop seems good so far, but still early to tell for sure. Greer has really impressed me. I can see him with one year in the AHL next year start pushing for a spot on the big club in 2017-18 season. |

I don't see a problem with what they are doing with the farm system. The players that were not part of plan going forward were let go like a bad investment. (I would like to see siemens get a last chance...?)
Does this mean we sign free agents to fill SA or move up prospects ready or not, or just ready? - JeffShantz
I would like to see hI'm get a shot too. But the ones who left were only going to be ahl players so I'm not to annoyed they left, just need to sign a few bring some draftees in and get a good development coach and they will be fine |

lol when I saw that trade, I was like Hamhuis was probably available fro that much.
But Dallas owners and Vancouver Owners hate each other, so I can see that in play. |

And this is one of the main reason the avs have struggled. Poor drafts since 2009. |
