Good article/explanation Michael. This tells me we might be reluctant signing/trading for a Dman as it would require exposing McCabe. Signing a forward or two won't have as big of an impact as it would mean exposing Carrier and maybe Ennis, which wouldn't be huge losses. Also means we may be further enticed to trade Girgs and especially Pysyk this offseason.

Every team in the league is in the same situation. The expansion team can take 1 player per team.
What happened to the stipulation that teams will have to expose 25% of their cap in the unprotected players? That was mentioned a couple months ago. - cabin
I haven't seen that in the newly updated rules. However, I know Vegas must fill at least 60% of their cap space.

haven't seen that anywhere lately, and there's still some confusion, but i'm sure over the course of the next year they'll hammer it out
Evander Kane will be a Las Vegas Black Knight in the next 2 years.
Buffalo will be sick of him by then, and he can see the arena from his condo at The Cosmopolitan.
Getting my Kane-frustration out of my system.....as for the Las Vegas team I think it will be a success. Games will start before the strip gets going.
I go twice a year and have talked the last few trips to several people that live and work there to get the feel and they want pro sports. 14,000 season tix sold, 2.2 million people and the number of fans going to watch their team will be insane. When the Jets play there I would guess between 1 and 2 thousand WPG'ers make the trip.
Once the Raiders move from Oakland, Vegas will just be on the Pro Sports scene and won't be much of talking point.

I wouldn't toss ennis away just yet - Michael Pachla
If you sign say Stamkos and okposo you may have to. I'd considering exposing Kane before ennis though. Makes Vesey even that more important as he falls in the under 2 year category
