you don't trade for his rights unless you know or have good feeling that it will be done. He shares his agent with Eichel as well. Eichel and Vesey are playing in the same summer league as well. There had to have been a word passed along.

Have to think they will sign him soon..wouldn't have traded a 3rd if they didn't have a deal in place.

They gave up a 3rd #76 from Minnesota so I would think Murray is pretty much assured he will be signing here or he will look pretty foolish.

Well since you can't talk to other team's players about contracts, I doubt a deal is in place.

I was refering to the article that he could not be signed until Aug 15. GMTM will have him signed by the weekend. Great move.

Vesey wants to hit unrestricted free agency. It's far from a done deal he signs in Buffalo.

This is interesting but let's pump the brakes a bit.

1) It seems many are getting really excited about a guy that hasn't played in the NHL yet, I'll trust TM on this but I'm not thinking we're getting a first line winger's production out of him the first year he plays. I can't see how this doesn't add anything but depth to the current roster, room to grow for sure, and he could surprise, but despite some of the enthusiasm we really don't know what we have yet.

You can't stop friends from talking. I doubt it's tampering unless you can prove that the organization directed Eichel to make a pitch. If Eichel did it on his own, that's just a pair of pals having a conversation.

I don't understand this so I'll ask this question, if the Sabres had promised the Preds compensation to speak to their player, on condition that they (Sabres) actually had a chance to sign him and the Preds said they were OK with it, would that be tampering by the rules?

The only comp situation I could think of is something like a sign and trade especially considering the player has already informed the team that he won't report. This actually gives the Preds the opportunity to get something for an asset that in a couple of months they'd lose for nothing.
