The Bruins have two right shot defenseman that you can have. Take your pick McQuaid or K. Miller. They wouldnt cost you much of anything maybe a 5th or 6th rounder. The Bruins just need them off the books |

I wouldn't mind either, but I honestly don't watch enough to have a strong opinion.
I'd take a flier on Wiz and see how it works out. The blue line is going to be quite messy with Lovejoy and Severson as our top right side dmen. Adding Wiz won't better that situation, but will at least shore up the 3rd pairing so it's not a huge drop off from the 2nd. Maybe he'll even outperform Lovejoy!
I'm still wondering who's going to actually be able to shutdown a top line. Lovejoy will get burned. Severson will get out-experienced. Greene isn't too fast. Moore isn't strong. Merrill is weak. |

I always liked Wis.
He's injury prone, but I think you could get him for cheap. The nice thing is that he plays on an edge and has snarl to his game. I was actually hoping the Hawks would try to bring him back up on the cheap, but I don't think that will happen.
I think he'd be a great fit for the Devils. I really like the moves NJ has been making |

Devils signing wiz would be fantastic for my keeper league team (points only). My 6 spot is a boatload of "???"
I have ristolainen, Faulk, ekblad, muzzin, green, Murray, Bogosian, provorov, wiz, enstrom, bouwmeester. 6 stay in lineup.
So wiz getting too PP time with hall and Henrique would be |

Wisniewski could be good, but the issue with him is that he hasn't actually played a hockey games since April 2015.
Good guy, but the dude is 32 and hasn't played in a while. Might need a sizeable adjustment period. |

I think the idea is that despite his time away from hockey, he'd still be able to step into it with more experience than one of the other kids.
Worst thing it can do is create competition. I don't see a problem with it provided it isn't a ridiculous term/amount.
EDIT: I wouldn't mind Zids on a 1-yr deal either. If anything Zids or Wiz will give someone to show the kids how to move the puck up. Hopefully Zids is over his habit of fumbling passes into breakaways on the point. |

Starting at the beginning of the year going through camp and pre-season is a lot different than trying to jump in mid-season. I think that would be plenty of adjustment period, and a good way to get used to the system. |

Question: Both Larsson and Severson had production declines under Hynes from the prior year. What is it about Hynes system that stifles the D's production? |

Larsson looked better than under PDB. Severson is a victim of a sophomore slump. Otherwise, PDB's system relied on offense from defense to generate chances. Hynes seems to prefer a more forward centered game with forecheck and such. I think that's what it was. |

Larsson was told to focus only on defense and Severson has in the doghouse. |

I agree Larsson looked better. His point production obviously isn't what was so awesome about him, I just saw the difference and wondered what you guys thought. I just was thinking if the downside to offensive D is the bad defensive game and the downside to Hynes system is the tendency to stifle defensive production maybe players like Zids and Wiz are not a good choice for the Devils. |

Wisniewski is not the answer. The last time he played NHL hockey (other than the one game this year), he wasn't that great defensively either. Lovejoy is better than he is. I'd rather get Rundblad and try him out. |

We went from a top-5 puck possession team with deboer except in that last season where we were around 50%. Under Hynes we were a much worse possession team, but the roster was a lot worse. If your team is always hemmed in your own zone you don't get a lot of opportunities to score goals. Which shows because last year we had the least amount of shots in the league.
You can have a good system, but it doesn't matter if all of your players suck. Like Babcock in Toronto for example. |

I'd be surprised if he didn't. He put up 50 last year in a terrible offense. |

Jury is still out as to whether Hynes is a good coach. He had so little to work with last season that I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt for now, but I want to see an improvement in possession numbers from last season. |

Playing with Skinner and Rask he should be able to put up some good numbers for such a cheap contract.
Jeff Skinner - Victor Rask - Lee Stempniak
Sebastian Aho - Elias Lindholm - Teuvo Teravainen
Phil Di Giuseppe - Jordan Staal - Andrej Nestrasil
Bryan Bickell - Joakim Nordstrom - Viktor Stalberg
