I'm pretty sure he becomes a free agent on the 15th, not that the sabres has his rights until the 15th.

It looks to me from reading it that he isn't allowed to speak with other teams until 12:01 Tuesday morning
or (2) is in his fourth year of college and is scheduled to graduate from college at the end of his fourth year, then in the circumstances described in (1) or (2), the Club shall retain the exclusive right of negotiation for such Player's services through and including the August 15 following the date on which he ceases to be a bona fide college student. |

interesting...I just assumed it was just normal UFA, guys become UFAs July 4th, can sign immediately on that day. Guess it different bc its rights running out and not a contract running out that makes him free to sign.

He becomes a free agent as of 12:01 pm on the 15th. Just like free agency where you can't sign till 12:01 pm on July 1st. If it was 12:01 pm on the 16th, everyone and their mother would be saying he cannot sugn till the 16th. Get your facts straight |

Am i the only one who doesnt give a poop about this kid.
Im a big believer in signing with the team that drafted you especially if there looking to give you a roster spot.
Its one thing if they wanted to bury him in the AHL but thats not the case. Nashville is a good team too....
All this is doing is giving more college hockey players the idea that doing this is okay. |
