Thanks Carol,
I think it starts with the defense. While Weber wasn't particularly impressive in 2014 his 11 goals and 5 on the PP were never replaced. Edler also had 5 PP goals and his injury hurt this team's ability to generate offense.
As far as forward production goes it will all depend on the team being healthy. They should be able to produce more but a significant injury or two won't be able to be replaced much like last year.
Larsen and Rodin both could make a difference but could easily both be out of the league by christmas.

Afternoon all, and a big thank-you to Carol for ending yesterdays fat mama fest...
As there hasn't been much turn over in the roster, we can only hope that the team goes virtually injury free, that being said I still have a hard time seeing this group making a impact offensively in our division.
BTW I wonder if it was Bo's mom who predicted he would get 30+ goals this year... |

I said 20 -25.......which I think is reasonable.
I don't think we'll go injury free, (Canuck Luck and all); but I am hoping Gudbranson buys our skill players some zone time.
That being said, Gudbranson is a question mark until we see him jell with his new team.......that goes for all the new faces.
The question marks will turn into answers in October......I'm hopeful but not diluted. |

For Rodin I expect similar stats to someone like Matt Read, if he pots 10-15 goals, 30ish points that would be a good first season. As a skill guy, he might be bottom 6 but getting on the PP might pad the stats too |

Lets just hope he isn't the winner of the green jacket next year
45 points, 20 goals and 25 assists would be good.

Yup.
If all goes well, I see the Canucks being marginally better than last year. |

That would be great for his development, may even hopefully quite some of the "central region know it all armchair GM's"....but probably not |

I think 20-25 would be exceptional for Bo. 15-20 is my expectation.
I'm not sure how Gudbranson is going to buy our skill players zone time unless you mean in their own zone or he converts to a winger.

Ya, that would be really good. I don't really have much expectations for him especially considering he hasn't had much opportunity to train.
I think he is still has a dark horse chance of playing with the Sedin's which would obviously help pad those stats.

To clarify my statement, solid checks in our zone would mean breaking out to the offensive zone.....but like I said its still in question what role Gudbranson will play. I hope he'll be the shut down guy that teams covet. if he can shoulder some of the defense, there would be a trickle down effect.
Edler has made some good checks through out the years, but I always saw him as an offencive defenseman. I think his point totals have gone down as we have shed defense. His role has become more and more defensive....I would say with less of defensive responsibilities, his offense should (in theory) improve.

I'm excited to see what he can do as well. I could even see him and Edler being paired together.
Anyone with patience and the desire, I found someone who has been posting EG every shift during the playoffs last season.

Only thru half of the youtube clip......One penalty, a scuffle and a couple shots on goal
Couple things I noticed were, a) played lots of shifts, and not sheltered ones. Playoff hockey, and he was trusted in pretty high pressure situations. and b) even for playoffs, Florida has quite a few empty seats, especially behind the nets.
Thanks for the clip, awesome to see him in action with out the conjecture of " He sux cuz our team didn't trade for him" |

20/25 is very realistic for Bo...anything more is gravy |
