Karlsson also had a monster game for the Senators, picking up two points and making solid plays that started the plays that led to the other two goals. The assist on Hoffman's power play goal was his 400th career point. Oh yeah, and he also blocked six Montreal shots that moved him into a tie for the league lead in that category.

Karlsson is leading the league in blocked shots, takeaways, is a +5 on a minus team, has good possession numbers on a bad possession team, playing 2:15 pk time per game (and excelling at it), and is 2nd in scoring by dmen (and easily trending towards being 1st).....

prock: he still sucks

karlsson has taken HUGE strides in his defensive game and his production hasn't tailed off............he is the best d-man in the league

Don't forget the classics "Karlsson is basically a forward", and "Doughty is better because he is a winner"

The Sens finally got some bounces last night that have been going against them.

In an 82 game season, it all generally evens out.

Karlsson was a beast last night. After he took his stupid penalty, you can tell he really made it his mission to win that game.

One goal in thorteen is no big deal. If it gets up to eleventeen then it's time for concern.

His offence will never be a problem, no matter what the total is.
He generates offence by just being on the ice, he is that offensively gifted.
He is in a class by himself offensively
I always had issues with his defensive game and his decisions.
He is maturing and so is his game.
The only concern Sens fans should have is KEEPING HIM!

I think Ottawa is Price's kryptonite.....they kept showing his career numbers against Ottawa and they're surprisingly horrible

Habs deserved that game.

But we don't hear about it. We just hear when they win while outshooted and when Price steal the show.

you hear about those games more because those games happen more often

Ottawa is in the same boat, we hear all the time about winning games that our goalie stole for us because we didn't score..........because those games happen more often.

both teams are very similar right now......they have goalies playing excellent hockey who are able to mask a lot of the shortcomings on both rosters. montreal is ahead of Ottawa in the standings because price is playing better than anderson

Sens just never seem to have trouble scoring on Price. it's strange. granted there are obviously talented players on your roster but Price has stoned ore talented teams regularly.

I really doubt that senators have to worry about that at all. Karlsson is used to ottawa, loves the city is the captain of a team on the rise. Senators have much to improve and yet, their defense has been pretty good this year overall. They now just need to focus on scoring and nailing the system down path. I have a feeling this team will surprise the NHL by the end of the season. Hence, why would Karlsson want to leave? The business failing is the only reason we could lose him.
