Jared Crozier: Hoffman's hat trick not enough as Sabres slice Senators

The defense was just dreadful. I won't even go into the PK other than to say what a let down.

I don't understand why Ottawa can't seem to start playing a game at the first whistle. Why do they always play catch-up?!?! You just can't win many games when you spot the other team 2 goals. Just no passion from these guys till 20 min in.

Kudos to the Sabers and nice to see a great player like Eichel back in action and not seeming to miss a beat.

Ottawa just doesn't seem to care that a game is 60 mins long.

We need another body for that top 6 paring and with Bobby Ryan either not showing up to play or coming up with that broken finger we are just hurting for real forward. We most definitely need another d-man who can either make a half decent pass or at least stick his man.

We can't win them all but we also can't afford to lose ones like this. It was ours for the taking and we missed it. These ones always come back to haunt us come late March.

It is nice to see Eichel back. 2 points in his first game back is good to see.

Sens were flying in the 2nd, just couldnt convert.

Hopefully they can bounce back.
