I don't think it would be to soon to make changes to the defense, people are enoying watching tryamkin and stecher, which is good because if trade edler/tanev people will still watch because guys like that, win or lose our team is more set up for the future.

If Canucks keep passing tests like tonight JB could add to rebuild.

Suggestion: Trade Tanev and Hansen to Isles.

They would give Isle fan base a can win now hope. The cost to them is Strome,who's lost favor and needs a change, plus Isle 2017 1st & 3rd rounder. It would have to be package to balance out for both sides.

Why could it work?

Isles get two in their prime great team high end performers. Plus, Isle's don't need another 1st rounder to wait on like Strome they have seen this movie before. Garth makes move to keep his job.

We get a guy to play 3LC or wing now and possibly 2LC post Sedins. Plus most important Canucks get a likely lotto pick. The Islanders may climb up with these additons but not far enough. Besides problems with coaching etc well you know our guys will get injured again.

You will need to find a d to expose. Moreover, one of Granlund and Baertschi (along with Gaunce) will be exposed. You are screwed if both of these guys our perform Strome. Just trade Hansen in TDL for the best pick. That way you can keep both Granlund and Baertshi. Unless its Duchesne coming back, no way you trade Tanev.

Good plan, plus wait for NYI to protect Strome and then trade for him in off season if we want him. They would likely need to take a smaller return for him from teams that have 7 forwards to protect already. So the player that team lose is inadvertently part of the deal.

Yes he's versatile like Sutter and Granlund to play wing. Also, there is Rodin as option for Bo's wing. I think he'll have an impact in the new year.
