Thanks Carol!
I think Granlund should visit the press box, as a healthy scratch, soon! |

Thanks Carol. Let's see the results of our favorite topics on HB threads:
WD- He's still here. No adjustment to strategy.
Players - they suck. Why play AHLrs
Trades - blow it up. Send the crap elsewhere bring in new ones.
Management/Ownership- get rid of them they hold the team back.
Tanking - why isn't this the plan? This club is fooling us no playoffs.
Drafting - can't wait all these players there waiting to save the Canucks.
Sure I missed a few but we all get used to the same stuff. None of the above is happening and expect it won't change a thing.
Reality is there is no single situation or method that will work. It's a fluid type of thing in building a team. Where opportunity meets best intention and gets gut punched more often then not by results.

"Baertschi's absence certainly didn't help the power play, which was probably the biggest black mark in Vancouver's game on Sunday. Sven has averaged 1:24 of ice time per game with the man advantage this season—sixth among forwards, so he has been a regular part of the rotation, but he has recorded just one assist with the man advantage."
This might be the best argument for firing WD I've seen on here. Waiver. Wire. Fodder.

In all fairness, while the canucks are at 13.8% the next 2 teams above us are converting at 13.9% 2 PPGs and we're in 25th |

Not sure they could compete with the A team (haha get it) line of:
Skille-Chapoo-Liquid Hot Megna
If only W.D would unleash them more often! |

Liquid Hot Chapoo better represents that line, IMO |

I'm of the opinion you have guys who can do what Tanev does by that time so why not use him to get an asset....he's not the only player who can do what he does. - LeftCoaster
He's not but he is also arguably one of the top in the league at what he does, Canucks don't have many guys on their team that can be said about.
It's all good to say we will have a different player(s) who can replace what he does by then but it's kind of like saying we will have someone to replace the sedins by then..... easier said then done imo. |

And how's that helped the Canucks last year and this year, given he's only played seven games this year but I think some of the young guys coming up can be a good stay at home quick transition guy....I see Tryamkin in that role in the next few years. |

You got that right. 1 shot on net during 5 PP's is bad, really bad. |

Regardless of what JB & TL publicly state. Unless these results are the real plan, something has to give. Too many empty seats, lack of TV viewers to stand by and do nothing. |

I comes down to a serious lack of skill within the organization, until that's fixed you're not going to see it improve much. |

Best argument to fire WD is because he plays Sven the 6th most on the PP of all forwards, or because he scratched him and then played Alex Biega (who is a legitimate AHL player with 1 goal and 9 career points) instead?
Or if its because Sven is waiver wire fodder, thats the coaches fault? Its getting harder these days to tell if someone is trolling WD haters or if they are legit complaining |

I hate admitting this but I have actually been impressed with Bieaga, thus far. Granlund/Beargeeee have been a huge disappointment.

I hope Tryamkin can be as good as Tanev but I wouldn't bet on it. I see what you are saying about his contributions being mitigated with injuries though.
If we can get a Hall type player for him definitely, if it is a Garrison type return I'm less inclined.
If we can get a Gudbranson return I would likely be okay with it but still apprehensive.
It all depends on what you can get for him imo. Same goes with Hansen. |

I don't think we'll ever agree on this unfortunately. Statistics show that Tanev is the best in the NHL at what he does (shot suppression), and it's not really close. I think keeping Tanev on the team and playing him with the younger guys will help both the team and the younger dmen's development more than trading him for draft picks or scoring and hoping that somebody in our system can pick up the slack. - nucks_94
He has value, he's only helping a bad team not be REALLY bad, trade him while he can help the clubs future. |

Sedin-Horvat-Burrows
2nd Unit

I don't understand why he keeps sending Granlund out there. I think Burrows has earned a spot and isn't afraid to go to the dirty areas. |

He's impressive because you don't expect much from Biega and he always manages to give a little extra.
Our expectations of Baerschi in particular is much higher and easier to be dissatisfied with.
Personally I've been impressed with Granlund but I expected him to be poop so I've been pleasantly surprised. |
