All Hamilton does when he plays 20 plus min a game, is produce. So why does GG cut his min. He is imo flip flopping with gio as our best D man right now! And when Brody comes around, and he will this D core could have 3 # 1 guys on D. I know I will get some back lash on this but depending on the playoff positioning the flames are in around the deadline, they should consider trading gio while his stalk is high! Let's not go down the iggy road again! Gio and two seconds for McKinnon? A good starting point!!

There's no reason to trade any of our top 3 D mid season...if that's something they want to explore you do it in the off season when you can still add free agents or make another trade

And I agree with you 100% why trade just to make a trade. And gio's experience,leadership, extremely hard work is worth it's weight in gold. But let's see where we are at around the deadline. To me it's completely different scenario than iggy ....we were in need of a change badly and our core was old ...now it's young ... plus replacing a RW is easier than a D

Because they waited to long. I understand loyalty goes a long way! And ever so slightly gio is starting to decline. And at 33 and how hard he plays it's inevitable! So while his stalk is high lests replenish. And yes that is prob in the off season.

If iggy at age the same age was on this team I wouldn't be screaming to trade him ...he would be a really good fit actually

Agreed. Gio makes whoever he's playing with better. Brodie is a really good D but looked great with Gio. Now Hammer's looking elite. As for trading him, no way !! Same goes for Backlund, he makes other players better ... you lock those guys up long term not shop them.

100% lock backlund up long term. He is turning into one of the best two way centres in the league. Vary under rated around the league and that is fine by me!!

If the Flames are in contention come trade deadline, do you think they make a play for Iggy if the price is right? He would really fill out our depth chart on RW and is a proven leader who can still contribute, stuck on a terrible team. The pressure would be off him to carry the team plus hed get to play with a very good centre as long as hes in the top 9
