Thanks again Carol. Excellent blog as usual.
Definition of stupidity: Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result, i.e... the Canucks deployment on the power play.

Thanks Carol. Great synopsis of the situation. Nice add in of Bo's cousin too.
I believe Edler was used last game on PP1. So really no change other then practicing the same thing. To do it better. Why it's being described as the definition of insanity. Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Though we can also go with laws of probability that one of these games it will work. Doesn't mean doing something else or trying new players isn't better.
But it's a coaches decision and he's going with "his" guys. He doesn't want to experiment is the excuse. The stats all season tell a different story. There are other options and players yet they seem too risky to him because what's been tried well it's working so well. |

Tryamkin in front of the net, could be interesting. WD should give it a try in one of those games that are out of reach. |

Doesn't matter who's in front of the net when the Sedins keep the puck in the corner / halfboards for the entire 2 mins |

couldn't agree more. The guy changes stuff when its working and sticks to stuff when its not. Very odd. |

Ive been saying this all season. Very surprised it hasnt come to be since its really the obvious thing to try. I mean really, his size is an excellent screen and try to move him away from the net!
Have him fall on some goalies |

Maybe some will say it doesn't make a difference. WD doesn't have the players to do much. So why care what he does. That may fit the draftist/tank agenda. But JB says he's good with top 20 guys. Maybe 2&3 round. Which means it's not a superstar savior year or deep round draft so why push that agenda?
Though developing these young guys in ways of winning helps. It does seem a goal here or there in all these close games makes a difference for a win. The teams around the Canucks are just as challenged in winning. So maybe deployment and stratgey has a role to play in winning...right |

You would be better off putting Pedan in front in case he gets hit with the puck |

I truly hope we have a new head coach next year. It will not make us a cup team, but We will have some more young players making the jump next year and I don't want WD to ruin their careers because he wants a useless vet to play instead. |

You don't need to be 6 foot 7 + to be a good net front presence... Look at Thomas Holmstrom. The guy made a living as an NHL hockey player strictly because he was one of the best at providing a screen and whacking at loose puck for the dirtiest goals. I bet you no one in the league holds more "ugly/dirty" goals than Holmstrom. Louie Eriksson is actually half decent at providing a screen, he should be put on PP1 instead of using Sutter in the high slot. |

We are all fans that want to see our team win, we just also understand that we need better draft position so we are not upset when they lose. Vantel said it best. If Bo/Sven and co are driving the wins then that is awesome. If it the Sedins driving the wins then it doesn't help our future a lot. |

Aren't they signed for another 3 years or something?
Why Vancouver never moved their team to Abbotsford is beyond me.... |

I think the arena lease ends after 2018. City agreement might be different. If they don't have an arena to play in the city agreement is void.
They mentioned either Abby Surrey or Vancouver at Renfrrew

It makes sense to move the team close... Or closer than Utica anyway...

The line up looks better than Mathews and the roster has not been released.
Beatle John was slipping here so I will give him some fuel.
He does have one of the best names on HB. |
