My opinion has changed on Zads, he definitely shows signs of improvement. If he can limit his careless penalties, he will be a solid dman very soon. The goals will come, but as a dman, the most important thing is taking care of your own end first.

Hes a 21 year old Dman, he takes time, especially coming in as an 18 year old and expeting to anchor a Top 4 right out of the gate.

Hes an NHL Dman with room to grow. I dont have any worries about Zads. It just comes to the D core, they need quality to play with so its not an NHL pairing followed by 1 NHL dman and a fringe Dman dragging them down.

EJ, Barrie, Zads, and if they can get that other Top 4 LHS Dman to the mix...promote Bigras to start on the 3rd pairing. I feel a lot better about the make up and mobility of the D core next season.

Forwards: Duchene, MacKinnon, Landeskog, Rantanen, Comeau, Soderberg/Colborne (One will be exposed to Vegas I assume?)

Defensemen: EJ, Zadorov, Bigras, Barrie, Wiercioch, Beauchemin

Goalies: Varlamov.

Are you resigning Grigorenko? Think with all the cap space saved you can grab 1 or 2 decent players from free agency.

Explore the Duchene trade market if you get the massive haul, if not you keep onto him for dear life.

Grigs you keep as well, he can be molded into a solid bottom 6 center, just play him wtih some better wingers instead of McLeods, Mitchells, Bourques of the world. Grigs is an enigma, but dont give up on young guys who flash talent like he can

In the bottome 6, you can slot in AJ Greer, Compher, 1 of Colborne or Soderberg into those spots....I would prefer Colborne over Soderberg just to get out of the contract earlier, giving the team more cap space but Soderberg is the better player

Too bad Colborne has been such a disappointment so far. Lot of holes but if Soderberg, Colborne, Compher, Greer, Comeau, Grigorenko can be in the bottom 6 it can be a decent one. Sign a free agent and a top 4 pick and the top 6 could be good as well.

Looks quite good going in the future. I'm personally a Duchene fan and like Colorado so I hope he stays. But if the package is good...

Interesting to see how the careers of Zadorov and Morin progress. 2 comparable players taken in the draft around the same time taking very different routes in their careers. I would guess Morin might get a cup of coffee later this year but with Hexy who knows

I think you get that stud LHS dmen with Dutchy over Landy. I am a big duchene fan as well, hes my fav of all the current Avs but if they land Nolan Patrick with the Top pick, I think it makes that move a little more easier to swallow, especially if they snag that other 1st rounder that they have been rumored to be asking.

Example if they trade duchene for Noah Hanifin...they could be rolling D pairings of
Hanifin/EJ
Zads/Barrie
Bigras/Weircoich (or Beauch if they cant get rid of him)

Still go with Top 6 of LW/Mack/Rants & Landy/Patrick/RW (or Landy/Soderberg/Patrick if you have to)

Provorov is off limits, I get that, but thats who I would desperately want.
I think you go Sanheim out of all the D prospects that the Flyers have, but thats a lot of risk for the Avs since he hasn't played an NHL game yet...would have to get more futures pieces involved to make it worth their wild
