Michael Pachla: Deja vu all over again?
The "New NHL" was throttled in year two, is it happening again? - Michael Pachla
This is an honest, non-sarcastic question:
Were they really called the "Ferrari Sabres"? |

Jeez...I feel like someone could have put a little more creativity into that one.
I was surprised I couldn't remember that until I realized that the '04'05 season was my freshman year of college...that explains a lot. |

toga!...toga!!!...toga!!!!!!!
oh...and one more thing, they were fast and could score at will |

This reads pretty whiney for a team that tried to fight every time they took a clean hit. Why was last night's game boring, because we dominated and had 40 shots?
Your goalie ( who is a known hothead) didn't care about henrique, how do you figure it impeded him? |

did the stick hit his glove?...yes... he interfered with the goalie's ability to make a clean play on the puck, because of it there was a rebound and the go-ahead goal was scored...
nothin more to say |

I'm just saying lehner didnt argue. It was 50 50 and I think if it was reversed you'd say it was a good goal, but that's just me.
Why did you think last night's game was boring?

I remember loving watching those teams, they were fun. I was always a big Drury fan, until he signed with the Rangers.
His tying goal w/ 7 seconds left against the Rangers in 07 was awesome. |

The Myth surrounding Sam Reinhart
Day after day there are jabs at Reinhart here - he can't pull a team on his own, he can't make the team better, he rides the coattails of Jack Eichel, etc.
Here's some actual data, rather than storytelling:
Reinhart had 10 points in the first 21 games of the season - the 21 Eichel missed. In those 21 games, those 10 points equate to 26.3% participation in all team goals.
Since Eichel's return, he (Eichel) has 22 points in his 30 games played. Guess what that works out to in relation to the percentage of team goals he has been a part of?
26.4%
Man...that Eichel is the best on the team, but that scrub Reinhart can't contribute worth a damn without him!!
(btw, in the time since Eichel's been back, Reinhart has contributed 21 points - 1 less than Eichel) |

that was Hamilton's word...I was pointing to his contention that there was a lot of obstruction going on that should have been penalized...the deja vu part comes in because we witnessed the same thing happen in 2007 when the sabres had the fastest team in the league |

We are well into the clutch and grab era version 2.0. Scoring down and penalties not being called as they should be is very old news.
I think since the concussion data started coming in is when the league consciously decided to let players clutch and grab again. |

Fair enough. I didn't notice much, but since I'm a fan of the Devils and fans sometimes have inadvertent bias, I will take your word for it. I agree the game has slowed since the lockout, and I think if people analyze any particular game there are multiple infractions that could be called on either team.

swap those bottom 2 and I'm in agreement.
Edit: really, just Foligno on either 1 or 3 is fine by me, the rest I'm not as concerned about as I am with what stagnation he's brought to that line |
