Great game. I'm okay with a playoff push so long as we remain sellers at the deadline. The youth is were this team needs to be sticking with and the speed has been sorely missed in Buffalo over the past 10 years. Losing some of the vets and letting the kids take the team to the playoffs, win win.

Because there's no point of keeping our current expiring UFA contracts around, especially when we're doing better with the young guys being called up. Be realistic, we're not Cup bound, maybe playoffs, but we're not contenders yet. We should stick to the plan and do what's best for the team long term and that's selling guys like Franson, Gorges, Nilsson, Gionta, and Kuli... we're fine without them.

Because there's no point of keeping our current expiring UFA contracts around, especially when we're doing better with the young guys being called up. Be realistic, we're not Cup bound, maybe playoffs, but we're not contenders yet. Earlier this year, when Kane was hurt, and Lehner couldn't stop a shootout attempt, and Reinhart was playing very meh, I was fairly confident this team was on a crash course to mediocrity, right now that's definitely changed. I'm hoping it continues

Gorges probably won't get any takers, but gone if he does. Go with Risto, McCabe, Bogo, Falk, as the top four. Move in Ghule as soon as he's finished in Juniors. Still have Fedun and Nelson.

But, do you really want to get nothing for Kuli? Just let him walk when we could probably get a second.

That might be worth it, especially if we might want to be buyers in the UFA market in the next year or two. Think of picking up Shattenkirk or some other defenseman who can partner up with Risto, Paying him 7M per and 5M of that comes from just losing Moulson.

I don't think that if we are in the top-8 come deadline, we should sell any defensive depth.

You need that depth come playoffs, Franson, Gorges or not. Falk and Fedun aren't getting it done and after them, who's in our system? Guhle? Okay that's 1 player.

If anything we should make 1 or 2 lateral moves. Swing a prospect for some D, or swing a forward and picks for a Stempniak-type player.

falk is a stretch in the top four and fedun must clear waivers...keep in mind someone claimed derek grant
