Right, because that Malkin hit was the only questionable hit... |

I'd say revenge. Malkin deserves a bone crunching hit from Buff. Hope its perfectly timed as well. That should teach him.
If that occurs, Buff will get suspended for nothing. Its just an NHL player safety thing to do. |

Looking forward to this one! |

Shouldn't be a question of Dano vs Petan, the whole situation around which player should play and which shouldn't is absolutely ridiculous. And the blame falls on Maurice.
Petan should be in, Thorburn should be out.

Al Penguins stars, Crosby, Kessel, Malkin, Honqvist, should keep their heads up!

I know team allegiance makes us all blind, but, you guys are aware that "Big Buff" did hit Schultz from behind, knocked him out, gave him a concussion (he missed 3 games) and he was not suspended (missed 0 games) and he was not penalized. Then, Lowry hit Maata and he is still out with a concussion (has missed 9 games and will miss this game and is out indefinitely.) Lowry was not suspended and he was not penalized.
Malkin took it upon himself to retaliate by hitting Wheeler. He was penalized. Wheeler has missed 0 games due to this hit.
I get it that you all don't like the Malkin hit, but, you have to recognize the circumstances. There is no need for "revenge". Those distractions will only keep your team down. |

Schultz turned at the last second and Buff completely let up and loved tapped him. Lowry hit was clean. Malkin hit the head and left his feet, if it was to make up for the other two hits fine. I now hope one of the Jets targets Malkins head (as long as they make contact with another price of his body and not the head alone) they can also leave their feet and the league can't do anything. |

Wheeler and Malkin should drop their mitts right at the opening face off and get it over with.
And if Schultz wants to take on Buff at the same time, good luck to him. |

Oh yeah but no one here is talking about those guys. Only thing Wpg fans care about is that Malkin cheap shotted the captain. Right or wrong. Now had Malkin taken it upon himself to go after Buff or Lowry we might have more to be logical about, he went after some one defenceless without the puck, (although it was close).
After the game I too the approach of saying the hit was not as bad as many thought. I still believe it so I take back the cheap shot part. However, if it was done as your point states that seems rather crumby to me. |

If any team goes up by 3 goals, it's going to get ugly. No need for Malkin to keep his head up. It won't matter. |

If Petan isn't scoring he's pretty much useless.
and....he's not scoring.
I'm not saying Thorburn is useful either but in a game like this one it makes sense he's playing. |

Sestito in for the Pen's. Are they expecting trouble? You bet. Thorburn might as well stay home. He can't handle Sestito. Buff will have to look after him. |

I'll come out and say it, I also enjoy watch the pens play their game, when they're in the playoffs I'm pulling for them but its the Winnipeg Jets who are my team so tonight is our chance to make the last game right.
As for the other 2 hits that have been mentioned on this topic by the pens fans; it sucks when a player is out with an injury regardless who it is (clean or dirty play) and regardless which team. With that being said I'm not sold on the fact that the hit buff put on JS was intentional with Justin turning at the last second. Buff's hits look bad because hes just bigger than anyone else on the ice. I'm not familiar with the lowry hit on maata, I didn't watch the game only the highlights and that wasn't shown on the highlight that I saw. Malkin left his feet though, we can argue this on both sides. What pisses everyone off is that Malkin didn't even get a call from the players safety department. If the nhl takes players safety seriously then all 2 or 3 plays in this game should have been reviewed closely. Again, Malkin leaves his feet before contact. Wheeler did not have the puck and had not touched it making him ineligible to be hit. Yet he left his feet...... thats my arguement.
I think tonight is going to be a game with a lot of penalties and fights. The jets are fighting for the playoffs and need that to get them fired up. And Malkin should be crunched so he second guesses his hit next time.

Jets pretty much have to win out to get a sniff of the playoffs ... Blues go and beat the Wild last night - no help to us ... Blues play the two worst teams in the league another 6 (SIX !) f_cking times in their last 17 games and have 2 games in hand and 5 pts up on Jets ... let's begin praying
.
Tonight ? Rough & chippy ? ... whatever ... put Thorbs in for insurance - neither Dano or Petan have more goals ... more pts maybe but not more goals .... one day, hopefully soon, we'll have an excellent 4th line in Matthias-Lowry-Armia
.
I'm holding out hope until the mathematical elimination ... but I ain't spending on tix |

Here's how Maurice should have the lineup, if he was smart.
Ehlers-Little-Wheeler
Perreault-Scheifele-Laine
Petan-Copp-Dano
Matthias-Lowry-Armia
Morrissey-Trouba
Enstrom-Byfuglien
Anyone-Postma
Roll 4 lines and let the 3rd pairing sit. If someone goes down, the Postman jumps up.
PP1
Wheeler-Byfuglien-Scheifele
Laine-Enstrom/Morrissey
Buff in front of the net, and someone feeding Laine one timers while Wheeler and Scheifele circle down low and into the high slot for rebounds.
PP2
Little-Dano-Armia
Trouba-Ehlers
Trouba runs the show. Little and Ehlers are the one timer options while Dano and Armia cycle like hell down low and wreak havoc out front.
PK1
Little-Wheeler
Morrissey-Trouba
PK2
Copp-Armia
Enstrom-Byfuglien
Obviously the PP comments aren't very detailed, but Laine not being on unit 1 is criminal. Maurice has the perfect pieces to make a 3rd scoring line and bump the Armia line down, but he doesn't seem to like the idea of forward depth. |

How'd that work out for you all?
Seems like the focus should be at n winning g and staying in the playoff race more than worrying about revenge / retribution for crap your team did all game long (in both games now).

Thorburn lit him up and Thorbs can't even fight any more. All Sistito is now is a dirty player. |
