I hate to admit it but this was the first time I actually didn't mind reading your blog.
I was hoping Buffalo would have been closer to the Leafs in the standing as I enjoy the rivalry. Maybe next year.
the biggest differance on both rebuilds is that I think Buffalo should have waited another year before going after free agents and trading draft picks and kids away to get better faster. It didn't work. You could have left the Kanes and ROR go to another team and stay and play the kids. Toronto is staying with the original plan and so far it has worked great as the kids are leading the way.

A lot of people in Buffalo feel this way, but in reality what's been trade away hasn't done anything yet, and many of the pieces probably won't. Kane and RoR are solid players and Okposo is a nice UFA pick up, we're not used to those. It's the defense that has stalled the rebuild this year, bad decisions there.
