Willie's been a class act since day one so not surprised. Hope he lands on his feet(sounds like he will) but his time here was up.

He got dealt a poop hand, but didn't do much to help himself either.Should have taken the Penguins job for sure, I still can't believe he took the Canucks job instead(closer to home I guess, but still).

I gotta admit he is eloquent but I wonder how much of the "attitude" problems that were revealed in the end has prompted him to be more gracious for the views of future employees

Cause all the remaining "veteran" coaches are trash.

Willie said he never once received a negative comment from a fan on the street

the canucks should hire the best coach available.

Just because we hired a coach without nhl experience and it didn't work out, how does that mean we should hire a vet coach now?

Do people actually think that because one didn't work out that means the next won't work out or that doing the opposite will have a better result??

He wasn't so graceful when he threw Benning under the bus for sending down Labate.

Don't forget, Willie's tenure was more than twice as long as the coach the Pens did hire - and Vancouver offered a longer contract, so he'll get paid for another year.

Pittsburgh looks great now, but Mike Johnston only made it 28 games into his second season. He went back to his old job this year, as head coach of WHL Portland.

I just think, for this group and with this management someone who is not just hive-mind homogenous with JB/TL would be nice. I'd rather see Sutter than Green, and I don't like Sutter.
