Rinne wasn't good/great, but I don't think the stats reflect how he played. The first one he should have had. The second one, the entire team fell asleep and bit on the fake. The third one was played correctly, by him, but bounced in. The fourth, despite a small screen, he should have had.

If I'm the Penguins, I'm not expecting him to post a sub-.700 save % again.

If the Pens can play that bad and win,,,, Preds are in trouble.

Nice write up RW. I agree with everything here, especially the lame board clears the Pens D were attempting ALL NIGHT. If there is no play to a curling forward down low (Hainsey is incapable of making that play anyway) the only safe play is a high dump to center and hope that our high forward can catch up and cause a turnover.

Good lord Ron Hainsey was terrible. Lazy turnover that led to a goal, thankfully got called back. Then tried to injure Matt Murray. Treats the puck like a hand grenade and blindly throws the puck away even when he has no pressure. Seems like a good guy, but he's bad at hockey.

Wow the pens organization is a bunch of pussies, charging the guy who threw the cat fish on the ice?? Really???? Come on... good luck on getting the guy, once he's back in Tennessee he's safe since he was charged with misdemeanors....

If last night was the best that the pens have I'm not worried...

He's a fine guy as long as you're only playing him 18 minutes per night.

If you're relying on him playing more than that, he's going to make a ton of mistakes.

I fully expected this from the Caps and Sens fans, but i am actually a bit sad that some of the Preds fans are acting like this. I really thought more of them.

I guess putting a computer in front of anyone can just make them an automatic jackass.

Nah. He's just a #4-5-6 guy who got sheltered in Raleigh playing with Faulk or Pesce.

You can't really rely on him to be your top shutdown guy.

In Detroit, the Octopus is thrown onto the ice prior to the game. Last night, it was done in the middle of the period, which caused an unnecessary stoppage.

The guy won't be prosecuted, but it was more of a statement by the organization that doing it won't be tolerated. Not a big deal.

As long as a Nashville fan is cool with getting thrown out of any event where he dropped $500+ for a ticket, go for it. Worked out well for the Preds last night, keep up the tradition.

I hope they don't think "We won so we must have done well. Nothing to change for game 2" They'll be in deep poop if they do. Preds have been good at home this playoffs so going there 1-1 isn't ideal. Come out stronger in game 2 and actually earn this win with a full game effort.

Is stupid to do that at away games. If you have a tradition in your arena don't ruin it by doing it on the road. Watering it down helps no one and you're gonna get in legal trouble for a minuscule thing.
