Milbury and Pierre aren't anything but hot air blowing, self serving, egotistical dopes, who compensate lack of intelligence with sheer volume. Stomach turning, is how I perceive them to be.
Hate to correct you, and it's one small thing, but Dan Aykroyd called Jane Curtin an ignorant slut, not Chevy Chase.

I really enjoy your insight from both perspectives as player and official.
It's not an a** kissing post for me, it's complimentary!

I'm almost sure I saw StewCat drop the mic and walk off the stage ater he delivered this blog. Considering how annoying Milbury, McGuire, and Jones are, I loved this beatdown.
Doesn't NBC know we all fast forward through Milbury and Jones when they do the intermission? If we're live, don't we all just leave the room? They have nothing to offer. They need to get us some decent analysts. And I'm pretty sure McGuire is just there to show off his knowledge of every junior and college team each player played for.
As a fan, I'd really like to know why a call was or wasn't made. Can't that be one of the intermission reports? Wouldn't we all be better hcokey fans if we understood these things?
Imagine if Paul Stewart was in studio to discuss these calls with a moron like Milbury every game. That would be epic. And I'd never leave my TV in between periods. NBC, you can be so much better for the money you're spending. |

Jeremy Roenick was my favorite player growing up, but bright he's not, and he looks like Stephen Hawking compared to those guys. |

I still don't know how Milbury kept his job after calling the Russian team "Euro-trash" on the air during the 2010 olympics. Maybe he is still sore about Yashin .
He was a goon as a player (and the time when McSorley laid him out with an uppercut was great), a bad coach, a horrendous GM (probably the worst GM ever), and is an obnoxious broadcaster. At least Pierre can claim to having been a decent scout, even if he was a non-player, a very bad coach, and is an annoying broadcaster. I often wonder if Milbury plays fantasy hockey with the NBC camera crew and finishes in last place every year. |

Milbury never makes much sense and is very emphatic about it. It could be that beating that Larry Robinson put on him in the 1984 playoffs is still affecting his thinking. |

I doubt it, he probably sees himself as too good to mix with the pleb camera crew. |

Why couldn't you be that person? The person who does analyze the calls on TV? You seem to have a lot of personality.
I personally think any high stick around and above the shoulder should be called every time. The interference is tough to call all the time because you know sometimes, if a player didn't, his team mate would get kabonged.
The headshots have NO place in the game. If a ref is unsure of what just happened he should be able to stop and review the film.
That's my two cents. I agree someone(you?) should explain the infractions that are called and not called. Because not everyone played hockey, you know. |

Maguire isn't too bad when he gives insight to what's happening on the benches. That's as far as his broadcast time should go.
Milbury was a fun coach to watch, a total train wreck as a GM.
Milbury is also one of those opinionated people that you find yourself saying 'Hell yeah' when you agree and 'this guy is nuts' when you don't. The problem is, he changes his stance like wind direction. |
