So seems like Vegas is trying their best to get top notch (1st or early second) round picks from teams as part of this expansion draft. In reality, if you have a player you have spent years on (development) and seems to be a NHL player, I would give up my second round pick in a second. It's the first rounder that is hard to give up. Now like Columbus to give up a 1st (24th overall) to take Clarkson and that be the player they "lose" is not that much due to shedding that salary.
I hope the Sabres give up a deal like this:
Sabres get
Dumba (I think he is better than the rest available)
Vegas gets
1st round (8th)
Moulson / Bogosian
(and might have to include a Carrier too)
Vegas wants to build through the draft, well I am willing to help with this deal. Sure a D man at 8th overall could be "better" but could also be worse and also will take a few years to get there. Dumba was 7th overall by the way

Carrier is a nice piece but nothing to loose sleep over if he is taken. Let's hope they take moulson in another turn around deal too |

in the case of C-bus, I believe the deal involves choosing between Karlsson, Calvert and Murray...
it was an intriguing move by the Wild to expose Staal and Vegas may choose him over Dumba

Nice list, but I think from the Bruins C. Miller (or maybe Subban, but they have enough goalies) will be taken. |

For Columbus, Vegas would also be taking Clarkson, one of guys listed above and 24th overall. Right?
As far as Staal, I see your point, but he is aging and he could have another good year to two left, so maybe. I guess it depends if others make it worth their while to do something different. |

If all we lose is Carrier, so be it but I hope we don't get Carriered-away (cue the Garth headline in 3,2,1...) with moving our #8 overall in a salary dump move. We need high-end prospects in our system just as bad as we need one or two good defensemen. |

Come on, man....Sabres get solid Dman, former 7th overall pick Matt Dumba for #8 overall in 2017? Plus Vegas takes one of the several boat anchor contracts off their hands. You are half right. Maybe Dumba for #8. |

Carrier is a small piece at this point. I don't want to see him go, and frankly I am surprised we protected Larsson over him, but it's about more than just players. It comes down to the big picture plan. Also, our new coaching staff and GM have no ties to any of these players so they probably made decisions based on who they see as a best fit for the new Sabres they are currently building.
If we could pull off a deal to land one more good Dman and one more solid top 6 scorer I would be extremely happy with Our team.
As our Sabres currently sit, I am very happy with what we currently have going into next season. Housley will work wonders with our young D core (ghule, Beaulieu, Risto, McCabe, Antipin) and if anyone can put up 60+ points besides Eichel (ROR, Okposo) we will have a good year. Maybe even make the playoffs. |

So we're rumored to be giving them Carrier to stay away from Ullmark.
I'm less pissed about losing Carrier than I am about NOT being able to unload a sh!t contract. I hope there is another part of this deal, or another deal with McPhee in the works.

Suprised Florida left Jonathan Marchessault unprotected. I would love to have him in Buffalo. Laser beam of a shot. Just seems to have a knack of being in the right place at all times. We could use him! |

I personally can't complain that much about who the Sabres left exposed, sure we might lose Carrier but when that's your worst case scenario I don't think that's really going to be a problem. |

We'll likely never know the price if Moulson isn't taken. I'm still hopeful that we could do Moulson, Wsh 3rd and next year's 3rd. Vegas can't suck up all the bad salaries in the league, and they would probably prefer Ryan over Moulson. If we have to take a vet with 1 year left on his deal, so be it |
