Looking at the Blue Jackets approach at the NHL draft

- Paul Berthelot

Good blog about draft strategies , RDS (sister station of TSN) did a nice article on Alexandre Texier and how he's considering either playing in Finland or Sweden , or going over and playing in one of the three Canadian junior leagues (the later would be preferable). Best case scenario , Texier becomes that sort of two way center like William Karlsson

Interesting article, I always knew of differences in how long you get to keep someone's rights, but didn't know exactly how the timeline fell. Also been wondering about CHL prospects passed over in the draft, and how signing them us UDFAs works vs. them re-entering the entry draft as an overager. Thanks!

The Swedish and Russian junior leagues are pretty heavily scouted nowadays. France, no.

Also, NHL teams hold the rights to four-year college players until Aug. 15 after they graduate.
