We had Ben Lovejoy playing top pair minutes last year, so I'm not sure being a great skater is a prerequisite for playing D for the Devils.

We typically use so many defenders that I can't imagine Cody taking minutes from anyone is a real problem. We should be lucky enough to stay that healthy.

If we landed Dahlin we'd be in a very, very good place. Even if we ended up with one of those top wingers.. any top 5 pick would be huge for us. But Dahlin would be the D stud we desperately need.

Awesome.

People need to stop thinking about 1st overall next draft. Devils won't be there. They had to win the lottery this year and we're going to be better than last year 100%. So maybe think about some positives. You know what helps a teams defence look better. Forwards who don't finish last in league scoring. Not to mention Cory had a bad year last year. Odds are both of those aren't happening again. Devils will be much better this year.
