Ray's been very frugal on just about everything we've done. Ownership claim they'll spend when it makes sense... but apparently that time has come yet...

I can't think of anything this team needs to spend on more then wrapping up their one good, young defender. Even the offer to Shattenkirk was sort of a middling offer. Ray may have wanted him but it sure didn't seem like he went hard to attract the guy. So we sit with all this cap space and sign bargain basement players like Drew Stafford...

Severson has become the Devils top right shot D. I can't imagine that his camp will be willing to settle for less than 5 million. 5.5-6 would be my guess.

You're clearly not a very patient person, Shattenkirk was not signing with anyone besides the Rangers regardless of the money and let's be honest he isn't a top pairing defenseman, all that cap space your talking about will be used to fill in holes when our prospects develop this is a development year nothing else

Last year was development year and people thought after plugging with Schlemko and Stempniak we'd actually compete in some free agency. But of course we didn't. We're not spending because ownership doesn't want to spend any money. That's how that works. It's not some grand strategy. Sorry to tell you, we're a two bit budget team.

You're delusional, first you have no idea what Shero offered Shattenkirk and no he can not be a top pairing guy on any team his defense isn't good enough he's a second pairing PP specialist while it's something we need by no means should Shero of overpaid to get it not how you build a successful team, last year was a development year? For who Zacha? This season there will be a lot of rookies on the team McLoed, Hischier, Quenneville, Speers, Butcher, Mueller not all of them at the same time but expect to see them for stretches this season, I see you post over and over about the team not spending money in free agency I would love to know what players you would of liked to see us overpay simply because their the best player available? You don't spend for the sake of spending you build through the draft and then spend when your ready to compete to put you over the top and that's what Shero will be doing there isn't any restrictions on how he spends he's just not stupid he wants to keep his job and build a competitor

Want the truth. You have ZERO (frank)ING PROOF Shero has the green light to spend money but every person we bring in a discount special vet. You think Drew (frank)ing Stafford was the best RW available this year or was the $800K about what we were willing to spend? or did having a shortage of good RW the last two years not tip anyone off we were going to need one?
