Can we expect more than 50pts from RNH?

I have him in my keeper. Almost drop him this summer. I was hopping that he´ll find a way on the 2nd line

But doesnt seem to happen early on ...

Is there some hope that he be a 70 pts producer anytime soon?

I love Nuge, but he's not hitting 70 while he plays 3C this year. He'll be more likely next year in Carolina

He won't be 3C once Drai moves back to McDavids wing after game 10 or so...

As of now, Drai is probably a better winger than center. He's quite the quintessential of a big strong centerman though... I would've let him play 2C all year even if it would possibly cost a point or two. Gonna get it back later imo.

Most expensive is also the best line in hockey. Would love to see Yamamoto up there.

A good third liner gets 30 points... 40 is amazing. How the heck is Rnh expected to get 70?

Best line in hockey has the most success wouldn't you say? So let's see how the $$$$line goes for points, because they may just have to carry the other 3 lines.

Whether or not we win our side of the trade is entirely dependent upon the contract he signs this next year. If he posts solid numbers in the range of 40-50 points playing the mirror man to Draisaitl (switching between RW and C) and signs for somewhere in the avenue of 3.5 to 4.5mil then I'd say we won our side of the deal.

To achieve this, I'd personally run him with Draisaitl and Lucic on the 2nd line and in the Letestu spot on the 2nd PP unit. Leon's best success has come with a linemate that's faster than him to push defenders back and open up space for him to do his thing and he can take over for Letestu on the 1PP once his contract is signed.

On New York's side, if Eberle consistently plays and produces with Tavares to the tune of around 60-70 points and contributes to the Isles reaching the playoffs then they'll have won their side of the deal. If he's a factor in Tavares resigning as wel then that's just gravy for them.

Agreed that there's no chance he gets 70, but 40 is NOT amazing for a former first overall.
And it's not just the line he's on. He's played extensive time with other quality scorers and couldn't reach those lofty numbers. He's actually kinda went backwards.

Nowhere near a bust as he's a solid two way player with offensive upside, and an important piece. But he needs to be significantly better than 40 if he's actually gonna fulfill that narrative that our center depth is our real strength.

Around 50 points is what I'd expect from him given his role of either shutdown 2C (gets plenty of minutes) or soft minutes 3C (easy minutes with capable offensive players) and the consistent usage on the 2nd PP unit. I'd love to see him step it up and hit 60, but to expect that much is silly and would require a serious injury to Connor or Leon to seriously consider. Rather not think about that possibility.

While we're on the subject, what are everyone's expectations for offensive production for the regular players given whatever role you assume they'll be in? For simplicity, prorate the total to 82 games.

McDavid- 100
Draisaitl- 70
Lucic- 55
Nuge- 50
Klefbom- 45
Strome- 40
Maroon- 35
Jokinen- 35
Sekera- 30*
Puljujarvi- 30
Slepyshev- 25
Benning- 25*
Caggiula- 20
Larsson- 20
Nurse- 20
Russell- 15

* dependent on Benning's effectiveness on the 2PP and the length of Sekera's absence

For clarity, these aren't my predictions. I have my beliefs that- for one reason or another- certain players will exceed (McDavid and Klefbom) or fall short (Nuge, Nurse and Draisaitl) of these expectations.

Pretty much on board with most of these.
Klef at 45 would be fantastic.

Need more than 25 from slep I think. And while I can see puju struggling to 30, another 10 would be a huge boon. Need those two big young wingers to come through if we're to take another step I believe. (Nurse and Benning too obviously

70-75 centering his own line is totally acceptable from Leon I think. I'd be happy with that. Anything less (60s) is all bad with that huge contract. Even moreso if he plays a lot alongside Connor
