This team just cannot make things easy for themselves.

They are sitting back way too much. I'm almost surprised Pyatt didn't dump it into the boards on that 2 on 1.

Still, they won so, hopefully they can carry that into tonights game.

Decent game, scary ending again, but Philly is not an easy opponent. Still happu with the play in general. Our captain has been incredible so far

NJ hasn't played a game in 7 days?!?! That is soooo NHL. Hopefully they're so rested that they have a bit of rust to shake off

You guys are playing your 3rd game in 4 nights and back to back. We haven't played in a week. I have a feeling this one is going to get a little crazy.....

It's easy to criticize the 3rd period breakdowns, but I don't think this should overshadow just how impressive it is that the team has come out of the gate with just 1 regulation loss in their first 10 games, and likely points left on the table in many of their OT losses. They clearly need to work on their late-game defensive play with the lead, but that's a relatively charmed problem to have all things considered.

At the end of the day, Boucher deserves a ton of credit, especially given the challenges of:
- early injuries on the blue line to Karlsson and Oduya, plus trying to replace Methot
- early injuries to Ryan, Turris, Smith, White, and MacArthur at forward
- no training camp for Karlsson or Brassard
- a combined 16GP by all of Brown, Formenton, Chlapik, DiDomenico, McCormick, Chabot, Jaros, and Harpur

Despite the recurring myth about the team being 'dull', right now they're 5th in the league in goals/GP, 6th in the league in goals against/GP, 3rd in the league in goal differential, 1st in the league in PK%, 6th in the league in faceoff win%, 1st in the league in blocked shots, plus they have the 3rd most PP opportunities and 4th fewest SH opportunities. Basically, they're doing a lot of things right at both ends of the ice, regardless of who is or isn't playing in the lineup.

Agree with all of that, plus taking into account that they have not yet had a fully healthy lineup for even one game.. Hopefully getting all of the injury bad luck out of the way early!
