Maybe,like many of the great Dieties of Lore, Lord Larsson has decided to smite all Oil fans due to lack of sacrifices.

Chia has been trying his best to give great sacrifices (Hall, Eberle, Signing Russell/Lucic) but I think it might take more. Trading Nuge for an older slower C and not resigning Talbot should do it.......

I think we can all agree on that.

I like the rumblings I've read about the possible acquisition of a guy like Frank Vatrano. Guy with a goal-scoring history, volume shooter, great wrister and skates pretty well. He's having his struggles right now, but he could likely be had for a mid-round pick since the arrival of Bjork and DeBrusk has pushed him down the depth chart a ways.

If the Oilers could add him as well as a more proven/defined scoring asset (Grabner), I think they'd find some nice value in him and help set themselves up for Maroon's likely departure.

Most definitely. The big thing just adding two guys who can and have create opportunities for themselves to score. Grabner does so with blazing speed and a willingness to shoot; Vatrano would do so by finding open space and being willing to shoot.

Maybe even just a simple swap of struggling wingers would do the trick. Slepy for Vatrano is likely close in value.

Nothing against him except for one major factor: he's gonna cost a whole lot more to resign. We're already doomed to move on from one of Maroon or Nuge so adding Marchy would just exacerbate the issue. We'd likely be dealing pretty significant assets for a rental which isn't necessarily wrong, but isn't my preference when making trades.
