The Hart Trophy is supposed to go to a player deemed most valuable to his team.
That's the statement, but not really the way I've seen it given out...
It almost always goes to a forward... so it's almost always an art ross trophy with a couple of stipulations: your team has to make the playoffs, at least 35% of those points should be goals. It won't be an art ross trophy if you get less than 90 points: then it brings goalies who have stellar years into the fray.
Last def that won it was Pronger way back when... def don't win this thing: instead, they're in the running for the art ross defenseman award, I mean the Norris Trophy |

He’s been great for you guys. I hate you all and especially PC for stealing him from us...
But that said I don’t think he will be in the top 3 at the end of the year for hart. Too many other guys having standout seasons even if they have more “help” on their team. |

Please name names on the guys having stand out seasons? I am interested to see your list. |

At the quarter point of the season, the 16th leading scorer (tied with five others), not in the top 50 goal scorers, and on a team tied for only the 7th best record is not in the conversation for the MVP. |

I’m not saying I agree with it. But the “experts” list will have all of those top 5-8 scoring guys ahead of Hall. |

How has Chiarelli not gotten more criticism for his actively terrible moves? |

It’s quite simple Kucherov, Stamkos, Tavares, Matthews And gaudreau are all ahead of Hall as of right now but Hall is still top 10 IMO in the league |

Drafting Mcdavid and the oilers making the playoffs last season helped lol |

Throwing away assets to sign aging veterans to bloated contracts isn't where you want to be. They have trouble with secondary scoring because he traded all of it away, because of this perceived lack of grit or whatever. Chiarelli is easily the worst GM in hockey. |

I’d have to guess Kucherov and Stamkos, Schenn, Tavares and Tarasenko probably all get consideration. Probably have to throw Bob in there too. |

Not me. There is something magical going on with this team. I say don't touch a thing until its evident. But we keep winning. |

we have different definitions of magic lol. maybe you're not used to a faster team or one that can score more than 2 goals.. a comeback here and there.. so that's magic.
5-2-3 in the last 10 isn't magic to me. BUT, if this is the slumpiest our slumps get during the year, then we have something to be excited about in April.
Tampa looks a lot more magical than the Devils IMO. Our goal differential is only +4..
if we're in contention, like 80% sure we'll get in, then I say make a move for a dman at the deadline. But looking at the UFA list.. not many appealing choices at any price. Ian Cole maybe? Reliable vets like Seidenberg, Oduya and Beauchemin are too old at this point I think. Maybe Brayden McNabb?
idk. we'll see how things shake out. I'm still crossing my fingers on bringing in Carlson. He'll be a great 2-way guy to have as Greene slows down and retires. Carlson will fill that role nicely. |

looking at our own UFA/RFA list, we may roll out the same exact group of forwards next year, minus Stafford and Hayes. Gibbons is a UFA, and I don't think we want to lose him, unless it's in return for a dman. Coleman, Noesen, and Wood are RFAs, and I've become very comfortable with all 3. Coleman has surprised me. Wood I don't want to overpay. Noesen is that guy that you can have as the 13th/12th forward.
on D- Greene, Severson, Lovejoy, Butcher, Mueller are signed. Moore and Prout are UFAs. Santini an RFA.
I think it's safe to say Lovejoy and Mueller can best be served as 7th dmen/fill-ins. Santini will be back. And is Moore worth keeping for the overtime heroics??
Plenty of room on D for a trade or a Carlson. Not as much room to add with the forwards. |

Im saying even when we had Parise/Kovy, that team still had trouble coming from behind. This team when down 2, I could care less, they always find a way. Its crazy. 5-2-3 could easily be 8-2, we gave away that 11 rounder. I forgot the other two OTs, but I think you get my point. Im down to let it ride and see what happens. As of now, the only person I don't mind giving away is Lovejoy. I feel like everyone actually contributes something in a positive way, which is rare for us.
Isn't McNabb a big fella? If he hits hard I'll take it.
Oh and speaking of acting like GMs, FHM4, great game again. Fun fact, Im a GM of QMJL team but the devils traded Bratt for Horvat and Bratt won Calder. |

Just wait....... He will strike again. Chiarelli's motto is that its ok to lose a trade if it addresses your teams needs. He is about to panic and do something . Hopefully the Devs can capitalize again. |

Other than McDavid, Draisaitl, or Larsson, who would you want on that team?
I'd like Nurse; they aren't moving him. Doesn't leave a whole lot left unless they have ace prospects I don't know about. |

Probably a productive trade all things considered but it's still a little steep for Vatanen |

After what Edmonton paid for Larsson the bar was set for dmen, they are expensive to trade for. |

Vatanen is good, though. And Henrique is gonna be 28 in two months. |
