Tallon trading for Jagr was like throwing jet fuel onto a smoldering fire. It was a joy to watch that line go.
As much as Jagr helped Barkov and Huberdeau, they also helped rejuvenate him.

The more interesting storyline today is the Panthers visiting Vegas, the team finding success with the coach who was loved by players and fans in FL before stupidly being fired by fools.
I try not to wonder how good they could've been last year without all the injuries....and without Elmer Fudd Rowe's decisions and demeanor sucking the life out of the team.
God, I hate that guy! And I still resent the owners for the changes they made after the 103 pt season that followed the seasons of visible improvement. Viola and Cifu at first did a lot of good things to change the fan apathy that had settled in after all the years of suck, then they flushed it all away last year. Fans who started to believe that things really had changed were now all turned off again, believing again that they are still the same old Panthers.
I like coach Boughner, and his team is better than their record indicates...but it's hard to forget that the head coach's position should've never been open in the first place.

Yes, right now the Panthers' play sucks.
Bjugstad can stand up, he just misses the net or drills it into goalie's chest too often.
Petro is still rather young and developing, and, lol,he might skate better than Ekblad.
Trocheck plays his ass off every game.
Tallon as GM built them up from garbage the first time, before ownership meddled. We'll see if he can do it again.
Ownership cares enough to have meddled in everything trying to become a winner, they just ruined everything and set the team back a few years. Hopefully from now on they express their care by staying the (frank) out of the way.

After the disaster that was Tom Rowe making offseason changes to a roster that was set, and then firing the coach that got them their best record in team history (with a 1 game over .500 record at the time), all at the behest of the ownership group, it was painfully obvious then what happened...

The self-proclaimed "Hockey Experts" set this franchise back about 5 years in less than half a year.. What we're witnessing isn't going to change much, and now at this point, I really think unless the day traders stay the hell out of the way, the Panthers will be the Chicago Cubs of the NHL (minus the "lovable" part)..

This is all the more painful seeing the success of the Golden Knights, and seeing the Panthers of two seasons ago..

The best Legacy for the Panthers will be when they finally pack up like the Thrashers did and leave for a city that gives a Fvck
