Excellent blog, and for the younger ones at lower levels, keep your availability updated, don't make assigners guess. You will learn quickly that when you don't and you get called for a game and turn it away, your phone will ring less often.

Paul, don't know if you will even read this, but anyway, how in the heck is the deliberate use of a stick to the groin, not a major and a game misconduct? This is one I have never understood, it in no way is a hockey play, its not like a check when the guy may or may not turn his back, its not a slash with these sticks breaking if you breathe on them the wrong way, its not whether or not you were pushed into the crease, or sticking up for a teammate who was legally or illegally checked, it is simply a dirty and unnecessary action taken against a player in an attempt to injure, and should be banned, period.
