Carol Schram: Bo Horvat cleared to practice with Vancouver Canucks + the GM situation The Vancouver Canucks are wrapping up their bye week and will have Bo Horvat back with them at practice on Friday ahead of their return to action on Saturday in Edmonton, plus a look at the Ken Holland-to-Vancouver rumours.

Thanks Carol.

With Bo back that only leaves Daniel injuried. Coming off 2 straight wins. Healthy Canucks should make for some better hockey

The expectation was that Daniel's back issue was a short-term thing, so we'll see if he practices on Friday.

I assume Tanev will just soldier on after gum surgery that would probably cripple most of us. He may get hurt a lot, but his pain threshold is astonishing.

TY Carol,

Any seasoned GM will want to have complete autonomy over the team. Don't know if that's going to happen in VAN.

To me the Holland story has taken on a life of its own, but I kind of doubt that there is any kind of conversation between the Acquilini's and Holland, with the tampering rules that are out there. Maybe the Canucks have privately considered their options when dealing when this contract runs out but it is a very large step, to think they have this plotted out already.

Also, with the personal issues going on with Benning's family, we are not hearing much from him lately, which is understandable. But some have made the suggestion, that because we have not heard from him lately, shows that the road has shifted somewhat. Which has helped push this story along.

I think ultimately Benning will be re-signed.

Can we improve on our 0.2 chance of making the playoffs?

I don't think JB has spoken publicly this year.

With Bo, Sutter, Tanev, baertchi all back we should win just enough to keep us out of the top 5 picks.

A few adjustments and some light strengthening and Daniel should be ready to go.

Tanev needs to change his routine or something. Whatever he is doing is making him brittle. He doesnt need to block every shot.

Brackett has done two interviews or public sit downs to represent the Canucks this year

I'd give Benning a 2 year extension

He wasn't great at first, but I don't think he had the green light for the full rebuild. And the players he drafted aren't playing yet, so what was really expected?

Team is much improved (at least to watch, especially given their injuries) than either of the past 2 seasons.

Brackett could have been the reason for last years draft? Who knows ? I don't know if he would be good with trades contracts and everything else a GM is suppose to do.

Benning was good at scouting but that is a lot different than what a GM should be doing
