Dermott was very good. Good pick in the 2nd round. Trade a 2nd for a rental bottom pairing now! Stop hoarding picks. |

They hit on one, fantastic.
It does not change the fact that trading a lottery ticket for someone who can help you is a good thing.
No one should trade a 7th round pick because teams have drafted Hornqvists type players in that round. Not having a 7th round pick will set you back for decades. |

Yeah, but imagine if they had Hutton, then andersen wouldn't have to play so much |

Then the team that has the pick will more likely than not, draft a Robbie earl |

Yeah 7th rounders are completely different then 2nd rounders. Bad logic. Teams hit on 2nd rounders often. Use it to really upgrade the team not the bottom pairing.

Dudes only at 9 NHL games. He has looked good but let's give him some time before we declare him a steal a la Percy. |

sure, the odds are a better with that lottery ticket, therefore is worth more.....
It dosnt change the fact that too many people overrate picks. Sure, you will hit some, but you won't hit a lot of them. If you can improve your team with a 2nd it is an easy desicion. And the Leafs haven't been shy in trading them. And it has worked out |

What a great game by the Leafs, and such a great story with the goals by Dermott and Woll. That's a great story that now Woll gets to go on the father's trip with his father for his break into the NHL. Good stuff. Loved Mathews fishing the puck out of the net for Dermott before he jumped on the pile. And it's pretty cool that a footnote to all of this is that Andersen is fantastic. |

Whatever if you think it’s good asset management To trade 2nd rounders every year to upgrade the bottom pairing and 4th line that’s fine. IMO being able to add hopefully good players into the system year after year that you can play for cheap in a few years instead of guys for 25 games is better. Unless the team is really going to be a top contender.

And.... |

Great game to watch last night. HOWEVER, I am wondering if that was a case of the Islanders really sucking last night? They seemed slow and lost every puck battle. Their goalie was poor. Even JT was invisible other then the 1 or 2 chances that Andersen robbed him on. Hopefully we come out hard tonight on NYR as I have a feeling they will be looking for some revenge from that time we shelled the King... |

If we still had Robbie Earl, we could cut back on Matthews' minutes too. |

I think the Leafs were good, and the Islanders were flat. It was good that Andersen made some huge stops when the Isles still could have got back into the game with some momentum. |

Waited a year, played 3 games and never played in the NHL again. What more proof do you want? Seriously?
