RW, so your numbers are based off him missing zero games during that stretch and maintaining the same pace for 82 games ?? Seems a bit generous |

Glad that he finally got 400 after what seemed like ages
A lot of credit for the Pens turnaround since Jan goes to him |

How good Rust has come back after his injury is going to be important moving forward. That guy has a special X factor that not everyone does. |

Ottawa on Tuesday. Would be nice to sneak Brassard into carry on luggage.
On a serious note, what would it take? I really struggle making the salary work. I dont think OTT is retaining any money. We need more than Sheary going out. |

I don't think there's any chance we get Brassard.
The way Sheary is playing we probably need to add a 1st for someone to take him. |

Makes you wonder what his numbers would look like if he played 20-30 years ago |

Would Mario have more points then Wayne minus the herniated disc, cancer and an almost 4 year retirement pre 35 years old? Almost certainly more goals! |

It seems like he seems to kick it into gear later in the season... as long as he kicks it into gear. |

I read somewhere that teams are apprehensive about Brassard because of his shoulder and OTT isn't budging on his price tag even with his issue. |

2 for 25 (8%) on the PP without Hornqvist is the lineup this year. |

That was TIOPS. I just don't want to part with the pieces when there will be several good options after the season that require no assets. |

If we are hypothesising to a certain extent, if Sid had a dream after his broken jaw & wanted to take up tennis, he wouldn't have scored anymore goals!
Let's hypothesise.
How many goals is McDavid going to score at his current rate x ice time in the next 5 years? Is there an expected goal total for years? (Can't be (frank)ed to look ) |

He should have 401 goals and 1089 points. Now, had there been no lockout and had he never been injured a single game without a dip in production, then he could have more. But as for how many he should have, the answer is 401 and 1089, respectively. |

Probably more goals, but not a chance on the points. |

I think if Lemieux's rookie season was the exact same year as 99's and he had the same great health as 99 he could of had just as many or more points as 99.
The rookie year is key here because Lemieux's prime came in the 90's when the stink puck trap started. There was much closer checking then. |

I don't think so. Mario Lemieux was the most athletically-gifted hockey player ever, hands down. Wayne Gretzky was the smartest ever (not that Lemieux wasn't smart as well). Mario Lemieux could skate around 2 players and drag one on his back to score. Wayne Gretzky would pull up at the blue line, have 3 defenders drawn to him and find a teammate for an easy goal, and then score a goal on the next shift when they gave his space.
Gretzky could use his teammates, whether they be Kurri, Robitaille, Sandstrom, etc. better than anyone ever because he read the play better than anyone, and that is why he has more assists than any other player has points. So while Mario was arguably the better individual player, Gretzky was the better team (as in on-ice team) player.
That's how I look at it. If I had to do a top-3 players ever, Orr is #1 and Gretzky and Lemieux are 2 and 3, mostly due to Lemieux's health issues. |
