I think I’m less concerned about how many points the team finish with and more where they end up in the standings.
A bottom 3 finish would be gravy at this point.

Team achievement is meaningless this season. Individual achievements are what I've been watching.

Watch Goldobin and lipstick go on a tear.
Would give us some positives to focus on in the offseason and allow night hawk to pencil them in on his top 6 for next season

Green to Media:
I had a 20 minute talk with Goldy today. Told him he is really good with the puck, but not so good when he doesn't have it. Asked him "how long do you think you had the puck last night?" he replied "2 minutes". I went to our analytics dept and they told me he had it for 29 seconds.

Green is an idiot. People wonder why the media is so bad in Vancouver, its because we have an idiot coach that gives the media a whole bunch of negative poop to talk about. What good does it serve to ever throw a newer player/prospect under the bus like that. Its the same thing with his "unscripted" outburst at Nilsson, not "knowing" he had a camera on him the whole time.

Absolutely. Brock winning the Calder was what I wanted but that's done with.

Individually I would like to see Markstrom make a save in the first two min.

Individually I would like to see Edler shut down for the year.

Individually I would like to see Tanev placed in a glass case that says 'break in the event of the WHC's'

Individually I would like to see JV shove a whole teen burger in his mouth in one sitting.

Individually I would love to see the Sedins snub Stecher again for a goal celly.

Individually I would like to see Eriksson serving pizza in the press box next year.

Individually I would like to see Nilsson with Rainbow tape all over his blocker.

Individually I would like to see Green insert Pouliot into 25 min of TOI to piss off Nucker.

Individually I would like to see Gudbranson on PP1.

Individually I would like to see Hutton play as a forward.

Individually I would like to see The Sedins say that the playoffs are still within reach.

Individually I would like to see Aquilini draft a local kid.

Individually I would like to see ...a (frank)it....

no matter what it is that is happening, it is reported in a negative light.

the media drives so much of the negativity. brutal.

the media comes up with line combos and wonders why TG doesnt have the same ones.

TG wants more out of Goldy. Media keeps asking him why Goldy isn't playing more. TG points out why. so TG is an idiot.

give honest answers, don't answer questions. give the patented hockey answer. never right.

the whole thing with the camera being on him, does he have to wait? is it about performing for the camera or coaching the team?

I hope TG is more concerned with how his message is received by players than how it appears on camera.

Are you always this clueless, or just on Fridays?

Your sensitivity isn't matched by Goldobin or any other player who will take what Green said in stride.

Here's a hanky.

- Slip and slap

who are you?

This has nothing to be with holding a player accountable. If Green wants to tear a strip off of Goldy for his play, then so be it. If he wants to healthy scratch him, so be it. In light of all the negative media attention since Friedman posted a few days ago, it just doesn't help with anything. I think coaches need to hold ALL players accountable, regardless of age, contract term, cap hit, experience, what have you. But this childish poop is so stupid. Reem him out behind closed doors, don't need to go to the media with your "private" 20 minute conversation just to make him look stupid.

I don't trust our GM / President / Coach to answer any questions, cause they all make the organization look stupid. Again, I have no issue with a coach tearing strips off of players and holding them accountable, but this is professional sports organization. Why do you need to have a private conversation with a player, then run to a microphone and camera and say he is naive.

maybe he didn't have to go into so much detail. or could have said nothing.

still think TG can't win with a lot of these interactions with media. and if he doesn't answer questions or avoids them, he'd be criticized for not being able to handle it.

He wants players to earn their ice time.

Media is always pushing to let youth play and live with mistakes. has to be some accountability in there. TG is determining how much.

I still respect Naslund for saying, "we choked".

you are prolly right for saying TG shouldn't have gone into such detail. just hope there isn't any media complaining about the honesty, that would be fecked.

I agree about individual performances but the 32 pick over all is more important to me

They should have spoken to Eriksson like that in November.

IMO:

TG: Had a good talk with Goldy. Told him hes been good with the puck, but want to see more from him away from it. I am sure it will come

Reality:

TG: Had a 20 minute 1 on 1 with Goldy today. Told him he was good with the puck, but sucked without it, then asked him how long he thought he had it on his stick last night..... 2 minutes. Went to our analytics department and they confirmed it. Only had 29 seconds.

Looks like two groups are forming on this issue.

I agree with you. Give the media what they want but personal stuff between coach and player stays in the room.

I think it's funny how Green (and all teams for that matter) withhold injury information even when a player is not playing yet will blabber about personal and sensitive conversations.

I wonder if Green will be just another canuck management type to disappear from the NHL once their stint with the nucks is over.

True, but you don't talk to $8M players like that. It's rule #364 in the CBA.

We've had the same idiots in the media going all the way back to Green's playing days. So hardly.
