Games like that are the reason I say that we have a good team and just need tweaks, not a rebuild. We have tons of talent, we just need to focus it. |

Makes sense to pick 1 game and ignore 50 or 60 others
I am sure Dorion uses the same logic |

Sens projection for next year and whole summer strategy will be based on what happens in the last game.
unless it's a loss. then they'll base it on the last game they won. |

So, what you are saying is that Dorion's decision making is based on logic? |

Nice article Jared.
I was thinking the same thing you were last night, where was this team the rest of the year. I don’t think too much stock should be put into late season bursts like this. It’s always easier playing with no pressure. |

Nice part about it is that the rest of the season is a win win. If we lose, we get a chance at a better pick and if we win we build chemistry for next year. |

how does that work?
how come the playoffs didnt build chemistry for this season?
Or does chemistry not mean wins? I dont get how it works

Well we have some new players now. Lets take Duchene as an example. He wasn't here last season and at first did okay but now him and Hoffman have built a tn of chemistry. They are playing well and should bring that into next season. |

We built playoff chemistry, not regular season chemistry. |

Ahhhh garbage time.
We remember it well. When poopty teams try to salvage some pride or play for jobs, and they beat good teams that have nothing to play for, or are tense from having a lot to play for. The fans become convinced the past season was just a mirage and their team just needed some time to come together". For sure, player X was playing hurt all year and marginal rookie Y is definitely an all-star next year.

Its not me or you that will decide what the Sens will do this summer with their roster. It's up to Pierre Dorion and Eugene Melnyk. They are paid to make those decisions, not us.
About the comments from Dorion and Karlsson in the media:
Stop taking what Dorion and Karlsson have said for granted. They only did that to calm down the fan base. Managers and players dont always say the truth. I thought you knew that. |

The problem is if you don't have the combination of committed ownership, scouting, and good hockey management, then your going to have 1 foot forward 1 food back.
Melnyk f'ed this team last winter - which was supposed to be on a historic time for both the country and franchise.
It isn't just Karlsson that needs a new contract - it's Stone, it's Duchene, it's hoffman and no goalies the following summer.
The team needs (a) a top 5 pick; likely top 3 (b) resign Karlsson or trade him for star power / impact players coming back, or you give him 80+m (c) move out salaries / buyout Gaborik which will be about 1.2 per year |

Yep, it's called "SUCKER RUN"
No pressure or expectations. S**t the bed most of year. Catch some teams that underestimate you. You start to think the team is closer to success than you really are.
Trust me, Leafs used to do it all the time |

That doesn't matter, it's fan speculation, that's half the fun of being a fan.
as for what Karlsson and PD said, that's fair and very well may have been just to calm fans down... That doesn't change the fact that it's what little information we have to go on, so we have to take them at face value because the fact is that they said those things. |
