Good on Botts for putting it together there at least. Having a good farm club does seem to help development.
I'm hoping that the Sabres can have more spread out scoring like them. 234 goals and not a single 20 goal scorer! That's pretty cool. Nice write up MP. |

It's hard to say if he's got any real future in the nhl at 24 years old but Blackwell put up some good numbers for a 2nd year pro
Top 40 in primary assists, primary points and total points among all U-25 skaters in the AHL. |

yeah the league is rife with overpaid bottom 6 players, anytime you can find mini-gems like this you're always better off |

I'd wager if they are franchise players they'll end up skipping the AHL, but who knows. I'm fine with spread scoring like that, means that there is a lot of competition.
I'm hoping this means that depth scoring is on the way for the big club. |

People who cover him regularly say he's passed the eye test, could challenge malone for 4th line C next year |

I’m pretty confident Z, TK , Dahlin , Svechnikov will be in the nhl next year |

I don't post much, but as an Amerks fan and STH I gotta talk about how much I loved Blackwell's game this year. I had no idea who he was coming in, but he's been so noticeable in so many positive ways right from the get go, so he's the polar opposite of Nylander.
He gives 120% every shift he's on the ice, whether we're down by 7 or up by 9 (yes, both happened this year). He has above average to great speed, is strong defensively and on the forecheck, plays both sides on the special teams, and found his scoring touch and got on fire for the second half of the season. Far and away, he's been my favorite Amerk this year and totally deserving of his "Unsung Hero" award.
I'd love to see him make the leap to the NHL for his sake, but I'd also hate to lose him in Rochester because you don't often see a guy like him who puts it on the line night in and night out. |

Nice analysis
At worst, he's exactly the guy you want to help build a consistent playoff team in Rochester and that's always a good thing. But the rapid development between last year and this year makes me wonder if he's got another gear in him to be an NHL regular.
It's great to hear though, those guys are always fun to watch at any level really. |

You didn't raise your hand though, so your heinous comments about Nylander will be stricken from the record.
Joking aside though, thanks for the input. Watched a bunch of games this year myself and went to two, he was a bright spot for sure. |

He's centering Nylander and Baptiste tonight, at least to start. If Baptiste can play the game we all have seen him play in the past, and if Nylander can get his head out of his a$$, that line could be downright explosive. |
