Great blog, glad to see Horvat wants to really grab hold of the reins, I bet he has some good ideas about how the team should do things that he can present now that the twins are gone |

Open question to anyone with an opinion:
My gf and I are planning a trip to Europe in the fall. Probably somewhere in the 6-10 week range and I'd appreciate any suggestions on things to see or do. We're hoping to hit maybe between 5-8 countries including England, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands.
We don't have a super low budget, but as recent students we also don't have money to pay out the nose. Any insights on travelling in that part of the world would be much appreciated! |

If you can make it work, especially price-wise, Switzerland is one of my favourite stops. I'm heading back to Europe in a few weeks and made sure to spend a few days in Lucerne.
Another underappreciated spot IMO is Bruges. Only needed a day on my way from Amsterdam to Paris to see it all, but it was a cool spot that wasnt overrun with tourists |

Awesome job as usual Carol.
Hoping both Juolevi and Petterson pan out, as we all know we need them too. |

I'm a fan of Switzerland also. Italy has so much history and beauty—but also SO many tourists. Expect big crowds everywhere.
Of course, right now, I'll advocate for Denmark. Copenhagen is gorgeous, there are reasonably-priced accommodation options and the hospitality is fantastic. Food's expensive, though.

Might have to check it out. Definitely gonna spend some time in Amsterdam, I've been there once before and it was great. |

I had a coworker recommend Denmark recently as well, he said he and his wife have been all over and it's one of their favourites.
I eventually want to do a Scandinavia-centric trip, as most of my family heritage traces back to Sweden/Finland, so if we don't do Denmark on this one it'll definitely be on the next.
Thanks for the suggestion |

England for sure.
France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Croatia and Slovenia.
Holland and Belgium are boring and a non event
Scandinavia is cool as well. Sweden and Norway if your budget stretches.
Svalbard would be awesome to go to. |

Carol Schram: Elias Pettersson signs entry-level deal, Juolevi isn't the addicted gamer
The Vancouver Canucks announced on Friday that Elias Pettersson has signed his three-year entry-level conract, plus the Sedins make a radio appearance on Friday and it's official: Olli Juolevi is not the player who's in danger of losing his NHL career because of a hardcore addiction to videogames. - Carol Schram
With all this talk about video game addiction I remembered that a guy I occasionally worked with told me a story a year ago about his two late-teen boys who are addicted to videos games. All day and night. No friends. No social life. Just gaming.
Anyway, I caught up to him this week and asked how his boys are doing. He told me they now live in California and play for some sponsored team making more money than he ever will.
Life is funny. |

My gf is an interior designer and is way into architecture so that's gonna drive some of our choices. She wanted to do Greece but I was told by a guy from there that the weather is miserable in the fall. |

In most of Europe the weather will be similar in the fall.
Spain, Portugal, Southern France and round the Mediterranean would be your best bet for weather.
For Architecture, i'd say UK, France, Italy and Southern Europe would be your best best. Even Belgium for architecture but not much else.
It's really easy to get around though. Really easy. Jump on a plane, train or bus and you're only a few hours from moving on to the next country.
